Nico Paz, Barco, Simeone, Palacios.. these are the guys who need some minutes

Scaloni for Qatar WC and 2 Copas was great but this one he is not managing so well. They got easy draw SF should not even be in question

I confess to doing the Diego Simeone testicle grab when Leo scored the equaliser.

Pure relief.

Thought it was over.

If they get through to face England, I'm ready to sell my soul for that one.

They desperately need some pace and width in the team, Barco and Simeone need to feature.

Everything says they won't win it, but I won't give up believing.

We are only 3 games away from immortality. :messi1:

I'm not sure I want Argentina to reach the final if the other team is France. I feel like it would end in humiliation, similar to the PSG–Inter final. This Argentina team looks exhausted and just can't match France's pace and physicality.
An Argentina–Spain final, though... man, that would be the dream.

3 positives

- No Yellow Cards so if we go to the Semi's, only Montiel is in trouble for Yellow Card Suspension if he gets a yellow vs Switzerland.
- No Extra Time while Switzerland went to Extra Time.
- There is no doubt that this team is so battle-hardened mentally. According to the tweet below, Argentina had just a 0.6% chance of winning in 90 mins just before Cristian Romero made it 2-1. The image below is incredible.

This is a great analysis of the game of Egypt. If this was the thought process that Scaloni, I could understand where he is coming from.

However, think we have too many technical players in the team to the point where I feel that we can take off one technical player for a speedster like Giu Simeone or Nico G.

I do want to give him the credit of the in game management that he has done in moving Messi to the RW. That gave the team a whole different offensive dimension and who would have known a 39 year Messi would be dominant on the wing.

After thinking ahead and seeing what Switzerland could possibly do, this is my starting XI (based on the players that Scaloni played the most in this WC)

Nico G.-----------Alvarez--------Messi
----------MacA------------RDP
--------------------Enzo
Tags----Lisandro--------Romero----Molina
---------------------Dibu

Bring back the classic 4-3-3 and time to bring back 2015 RW Messi, we need threat on the wings and those crosses that he puts in are still dangerous. Nico G. has a good leap to make some good contact with the ball with his head for those crosses. Messi to drift in, Molina to overlap and RDP to cover. Leave the build up to MacA and Enzo.

1 more game to reach to the World Cup Semi Finals!

Scaloni wont bleed in the new generation until after the World Cup. But man if he did get Paz and Barco involved in the midfield then they would have been much better.

Have you analyzed Switzerland? What was your takeaway?

They are a Solid team that has clear instructions to execute tactically. They'll bunker down for sure so need some threat down the wings. Their best attacking play comes from the left side from what I could see which makes me real nervous as Molina has been bad this tournament and RDP got worse.
Manzambi will be a big miss for Switzerland. I have watched every Switzerland game so far and they do have some qualities that could potentially hurt you.

Imo they'll be a tougher matchup for you than Columbia because Scaloni knows them a lot better.

Manzambi will be a big miss for sure. Wishing him a speedy recovery (but not ready for the Argentina match lol)

I much prefer to face Switzerland than Colombia (similar to how I wanted Cape Verde over Uruguay even though we suffered tremendously). Beating Argentina in the World Cup would literally be the equivalent of a World Cup trophy for Colombia and they will be bragging about it for years - their fans hate Argentina. Colombia will definitely raise their game and be a pain in the ass to play against. Knowing how South American compete in major tournaments, the possibility of yellow/red card suspensions, physical play and injuries will increase even more.

Switzerland will be a very tough game for sure, but still I prefer facing them.
