From Gaston, the following 24 players will be going to the WC

GK: E. Martinez (33), Rulli (34), Musso (32)
RB: Molina (28), Montiel (29)
CB: Romero (28), L. Martinez (28), Otamendi (38), Balerdi (27)
LB: Tagliafico (33), Acuña (34)

RCM: De Paul (32), Palacios (27)
DM: Enzo (25), Paredes (32)
LCM: MacAllister (27), Paz (21)

RW: Messi (39), Giuliano (23)
FW: Alvarez (26), Martinez (28), José Manu López (25)
LW: Almada (25), Nico Gonzales (28)

The remaining 2 spots will be fought between these players (out of the 3 selected, 2 will be selected)
- Senesi (29) vs Medina (27) - Senesi has a higher chance to go than Medina
- Barco (21) vs Mastantuono (18) - Barco has a higher change to go than Mastantuono
- Lo Celso (30) vs Prestianni (20)

My guess is that Senesi and Lo Celso will be the ones going. If not, Lo Celso, then Barco

I don't get the fascination of bringing a 3rd striker to the squad (think the defense and/or midfield can use an extra spot), but I hope to be proven wrong.

Are those really the best Argies for each position? Seems like it's heavily based on the previous WC squad with not a lot of new blood.

What do you think will be the starting 11? We're getting close now.

Very similar to 2022, teams that don't evolve and rebuild usually don't end up on top. I'm not the most optimistic about Argentina this time but let's hope for the best.

Always forget, you Argentinian or just follow them closely? What was the reaction in Argentina for ticket prices? Ridiculous prices will be a big problem for Argentinian fans but I have no doubt they will be one of the highlights of the event again.

I'm not Argentine but I follow them closely.

Reaction to ticket prices is mostly the same worldwide, but in WC22, the Argentine fans made financial sacrifices to make the WC and fly to Qatar. With this being Messi's last WC, could see the same sacrifices being made again.

The GOAT learned how to get himself in perfect shape for when it matter in his latter years, he hit top form before WC22 too. There are reports him and De Paul are doing double session for a while and it shows. It's really going to be interesting to see how he does in top football after all these years in MLS.

Seeing the current news for now, there will be some players who will be traveling with the squad (only Capaldo and Beltran are in list of 55 players). Looks like they also called up Agustin Giay too.

Seeing the call up of both Capaldo and Giay, seems like Montiel's injury is bad. Even if Montiel is called up in the list of 26, Scaloni can still replace him 24 hours before the 1st WC match if Montiel cannot participate in the tournament.

I've been championing Capaldo for a long time as he has a physical profile that we need. I would take Capaldo over Palacios and keep Montiel as Capaldo can cover so many positions like RCM, RM, RB and RCB in a back 3

Back up Left Back is the only worry that I have from this squad - my preference is Medina seeing Acuna's injury.

The squad list is out!

I'm not 100% satisfied with the list but I'm not as pessimistic. It's still a solid decent list.

Ones to keep an eye out are Montiel and Nico Gonzalez. They can still be taken out based on their injuries, especially Montiel. I would be surprised if the list is the same by the time we face Algeria.

I trust Scaloni with his judgement, let's see if it pans out.

Who is F. Lopez? 1.90 guy from Palmeiras? Is he good or just a plan B with height?

Both RB and LB looks weak
