Gordon, a good signing?

Let Flick work his magic with this guy.

I am quite hopeful he can come close to Raphinha's output. Perhaps he won't reach that monstrous 24/25 season but 30 G/A per season at a minimum.

When Raphinha joined he had 11+3 in 35 games in his last season for Leeds.
Gordon had 17+5 in 46 for Newcastle which is slighly better per game.

Dont see him even being used to try and match Raphinhas output.

Raphinha has been more or less a second striker at times coming off wing and pressing/running in behind as Lewa couldnt.

Gordon cant finish like Raphinha but he is better 1v1 and holding width out wide as did yesterday.

The both offer different things and Gordon with more width can allow more freedom to Yamal on other side.

I believe Gordon is signed with the belief that he can take another step in his development. No way we sign a LW without the hopes of him being heavily involved in terms of G/A.

Reactions: R9.
All Barca attackers are heavily involved in goals/assists but I dont think they are signing Gordon to replicate the role of Raphinha in that freedom to be a second striker from left in same way and wont result in same output individually.

Whatevs, still a fucking strange transfer and for 80m mind you. I'm not totally against it, there are many positives with Gordon - but still...

It's really not a strange transfer as it's clear what attributes we brought him for, a lot to like. 80m is just the state of the market.

Gordon ranks no.1 in top speed reached in Europe this season.

Anderson is very good, young and English.

Ticks all the boxes to be able to demand a big fee.

Could see him being Englands best player at this World Cup or one of.

Very good mates with Gordon.

Apparently Notthingham declined 140m for some Anderson with zero games in CL to date. Market is fucked.
Rumors are that Marinakis is using Caciedo's transfer to Chelsea as a measuring stick when it comes to fees.

Anderson is very talented and not only that he's English and Marinakis is going to skin City alive every chance he can get when it comes to a fee.

No doubt the chap is good. At 140m he should be shooting rainbows out of his ass though.

Even more insane, United are likely going to buy Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for £80mil and he's been relegated twice with Southampton and now West Ham back to back.

Amateur league. 140m on Anderson and they manage to lose Olise for 55 to Bayern. No wonder they can't do shite vs PSG.

All that money to play shite on a stick in CL.

Current EPL must be the worst league of all time in terms of value for money.

If he is Rice level and there for years it is good value and English players are a premium

If he gets 15m a year he wouldnt be all that much more expensive on books than Lewa probably and less if renewed after 2 or 3.

Cucu is a decent, well rounded player though. In a time where there arent many quality FBs out there, he becomes more appealing.

60mil may be too much since I think his contract is up soon too, but he makes RM better.

At 30-40mil he would of been a great signing for us. Better than Balde in every category as much as it pains me to say it. I had high hopes for him. Still young, but he has shown zero growth under Flick where almost every other player has flourished.
