He's probably Bayern-bound (at least so far when it comes to more material rumors), but he would be a huge signing for our LW spot since he is also a pressing demon with elite physicals. Can play at CF as well, which is probably another reason we're interested in him.

Yeah most likely Bayern it seems.

Bayern and PSG are doubling down on players that can go 1v1 both in starting line up and on bench as they see the way man to man marking with a press is order of the day and need these players to beat it.

Add to that he works his bollocks off defensively and has decent height/power ticks a lot of boxes.

He is agent for a lot of players.. maybe Barca are genuinely interested or maybe its the agent doing his job and trying to get more money out of Bayern or any other club interested.

Barca met with Haalands agents when knew had zero chance really. It keeps good relationships regardless.

Newcastle fans have a mixed opinion of him:
Take out penalties and he's been responsible for more goals conceded due to giving the ball away, than he's scored in the PL this season.
He looks like a really strong player, right up until he gets in and around the box. Put it this way, I feel far more confident when Barnes finds himself in those positions than when Gordon does. 65m is good money for him.
Other than the 'big' games he's not been interested.
He's pacy but predictable. He got chances when others were more deserving. He's never got back to his pre euros form and he's been planning his escape for 2 plus years. He's been decent for us but if that fire ain't in his belly - he's a passenger.
Made me smile when the commentator said 'and Bayern still want Anthony Gordon'.... he would get nowhere near that starting 11, he's not a good enough footballer. His titty lip would be out within 2 months
Watching that game last night its obvious Gordon is absolutely lightyears away from being near the level of that Bayern team. The Bundesliga is obviously really poor these days so he will do well in that as a squad option but in no world is he anywhere near good enough to be playing in them sort of high quality matches we saw last night. I really don't see Bayern being daft enough to give us the 70/80 million we want for someone who is just going to be a useful squad player.
I didn’t think Luis Diaz was worth the money Bayern paid. Let alone playing at this level. Having less games, less intense league, weaker opposition weak to weak is massive.
We’ve seen Gordon tear up lesser defenders and turn it on im big games.
I don’t hate Gordon at all. I don’t care how he looks or what haircut he has, I don’t think he has a particularly bad attitude. People do talk a lot of random shite about him.

I don’t rate him that highly however. Yes he’s probably our best attacker now Isak has gone but his competition for that status is shocking. I think Gordon at his best is quick, presses incredibly well, and overwhelms opponents with energy more than anything else. Technically I think he’s pretty average for a winger, his crossing can be decent, he can’t strike a ball, he isn’t really a creative type that plays killer passes. He did have a period where he looked like he could be a top player, but that was a long time ago now. I doubt he’ll get any better if he wants to leave and we make him stay.
Hes been playing within himself for yonks.
On the wing he's very limited - up front he's a workhorse.
He's fast - but that will drop off as he ages. He can press for days, wins lots of free kicks, good penalties.
I honestly don't think we'd miss the Gordon we saw this season.
He must have a brilliant PR team this lad if Munich and Barca really are interested in him. The vast majority of people you speak to all agree that as long as we get decent money for him they aren't bothered about him leaving which tells you a lot about how they view him as a player . It's nothing at all like when Isak wanted out and everyone was gutted .

The times we could sign PL top performers with a long contract are gone. Contract until 2030. He'll cost close to 100m as well.

There is no way anyone is paying 100m and Newcastle will have learned a lesson last season about trying to hold onto players for huge sums and being left to overspend on shite like Wissa and Woltemade as a result.

Newcastle fans have a mixed opinion of him:

They're a salty bunch because they kniow he's going. If he suddenly did a U turn and said he was staying another couple of years, they would all be saying how wonderful he is.

That said, he's far from the finished article. Whoever buys him is paying for the potential he has as a player. He's good, a little bit up and down. But he could be great with the right guidance. While he might not always score the amount of goals he should, he's a pressing machine, and perfect for any team that tries to win the ball high up the pitch. It's why Tuchel will likely give him the nod over Rashford on the left wing for England this summer.

Centre forward position:
Gordon for €60 miliona > Joao Pedro/Kroupi for €90 milion > Asllani > Espi > Muriqi

As a replacement for Raphinha and Yamal, and sometimes even a striker:
Yes please.

Newcastle fans have a mixed opinion of him:
Newcastle fans are too spoiled, they think they are a big club. Delusionals. They can get relegated tomorrow and no one would care. A player of Gordon's level has absolutely no business playing for Newcastle

He can also cover striker, wouldn't be bad at all as CF.

Great signing for the 60-70 million numbers and he'll fit like a glove in this team.

If we're signing him I suppose it means we will drop the Rashford option, so club probably have Rashford as the plan B.

Barca needs 2 wingers behind Lamine and Rapha, as Roony is too bad even for a back-up. So I guess Deco tries to fit both if the finances allow it. That's a big if though.

How have we fallen so low? So low that we are salivating paying 85m for a player that .......... runs a lot !

I keep hearing this weird phrase ' He will cook under Flick ". That's relevant for a 25m prospect but when you are paying the likes of circa 100m HE NEEDS TO BE COOKING BEFORE HE GETS HIS ARSE TO FLICK.

The theory of paying 100m for players you need to give a ' leg up ' to is bizzare.

Anthony Gordon plays for one of the most attacking sides in Europe, often as the MAIN CENTRE FORWARD and he has barely scored goals outside of penalties for the last 2 seasons.

This weird idea that his numbers will balloon once he gets out of the oh so great EPL is laughable.

What next?? 200m for Calvert Lewis and Zian Fleming ???
