This is the catch with signing these high profile players.

A month ago he was twerking for Barça, we ditched him and now he's twerking for Madrid.

You never know if one of these players we signed, if we rejected them, where they would go.

That's why academy boys are priceless.

Latest news is that Flick has vetoed his signing. It's still only May so a lot can change. Have a feeling though they will try to sign Van de Ven, especially with Senesi joining Spurs.

Not sure what I think about that.

There's no loyalty in this ruthless business.

If a substitute youth product at Barca gets a better opportunity at a PL club, they'll leave.

We don't have a rivalry with PL clubs. It's only minor beef caused by several big European ties and finals in which we smashed them and they hated us ever since.

I'm talking about Madrid. No kid from Barca academy will ever join Real or there is any possibility he could fit in there as a character/individual. It's different for these players. I can imagine Lewa, Kounde, Christensen, even Raphinha, wearing a RM shirt and being a diehard madridista. And if we had not approached them at the right time, perhaps that would happen at some point.

But Yamal, Cubarsi, Gavi, Fermin, Olmo how can you imagine them playing for Real Madrid? Also Pedri who was raised in a family that embraces Barça. Since young age they have been taught completely different values. And those are Barça values.

We'll have to see if Tottenham go down today, but that feels less likely because of Everton's recent bad form. If Everton had won one of their last 5 or 6 games or so, they'd still be competing for the Europa and Conference spots, but they are now just out of range so don't have anything to play for.

That's before considering West Ham have to win.
