9 - Gabriel Jesus

Once we didn’t get espi, it was obvious we were never going for a target 9. Flick has a certain profile he prefers for his fast attacking football. Scoring goals has never been an issue with Flick so no need for a plan b.

Except when he needed it multiple times last season, when lewa had to score goals off crosses because we couldn't break down teams.

We had 3 (out of 6) attacking players that were injury prone. Now we have 4.

Guess I'll take him, it's another body we can use to rest starters. I can so see him scoring some important goals when (IF) he's on the pitch.

Hopefully the 3rd year is optional on our end.

This also mean we'll keep the Julian obsession in January and May/June, before the FFP limits kick in.

Good player. Too bad he's injured 90% of the time. You'd think we can sell him for a similar amount or more after, but his injury history is why we basically got him for free in the first place. Illogical signing for that reason.

Let's be honest. It is a shite signing.

We sold Ansu Fati for 11m to sign Jesus for 10m. Who is more crocked and had a worse season. With no knees they basically have the same profile.

Emergency stop gap panic buy. I think Paris FC got Sinayoko for 6m or so who would have done a better job for the same role.

It's cheap but the wage won't be, and we won't be able to offload him easily.
