9 - Gabriel Jesus

Could be a steal, IF he remains healthy. He has class and is in his prime years. If the fitness team manages to keep him fit, he'll score plenty of goals in LaLiga. This transfer will be evaluated in hindsight based on his availability.

It's going to be "I told you so" or "perfect transfer".
 
All the recent loanees have done fairly well. They haven't been perfect but they've helped us win points in one game or another. Those include Felix, Cancelo and Rashford prior to Jesus. I think he'll have that sort of impact.
 
I have same feeling as Flick, surprised we had the good fortune to land a player like him pretty cheaply
 
We need to rotate Ade, Hamza and even Jesse if we're 2-3 so goals up - not let Raph run around like crazy. Meanwhile ease Jesus in with the help of our fitness and medical teams. But that won't happen, Flick is hell bent on exhausting Raph and Yamal - MAYBE he does a sub in the 80th minute or something SOMETIMES.
Anyway, keep Jesus healthy and he'll help us a lot...

If confirmed, what the fuck is Deco thinking? Stupid panic buy. I don't get it, it's not like Jesus had any leverage and 15 offers to choose from. If he had clubs from Turkey or Saudi after him, to come to Barça, you earn less, way less.
He even said he wasn't expecting this transfer to happen, and we make him a top earner?

As a player, IF available, he can be useful. But with this salary, I'd rather not have him. Bug chances will bite us in the ass.

I don't like Ferran, but for 250k/week, we should've offered it to him. At least, he stays fit.

There is only one truth regarding the Jesus transfer.

It's a low risk move and because they screwed up with the Alvarez deal, they were desperate to fill the position.

That does not change the fact that, in all likelihood, this is money thrown down the drain.

Ronaldo was magnificent but left after only a year.
2nd was Sonny Anderson. A terrible flop. I had such hopes for him back then.

Funny, Sonny did wonder at Olympique Lyonnais in France after the flop at Barcelona.
He is a legend here. Best player of Ligue 1 in 2000 and 2001 and best goalscorer for two season too.

What matters is the total cost of a transfer (fee + wages).
What other striker with similar skills and experience was available for a similar or lower total cost? Who did Deco miss out on this window, if this transfer was a "masterclass".
