7 - Ferran Torres

I'll say this. You do not sell Ferran. Not because he is a star but because you will never do better than having a guy like this as a backup. Nobody is going to come to Barca that is any good to sit the bench behind Raphinha or Yamal or whatever 9 they get that will likely be world class.

Torres is pretty damn good on his day and as a versatile backup that wants to be here. We keep

Agreed (y)

He's playing in patches which is an issue. Frustrating player. Had some superb touches, an assist, and a world class finish today, but in some other games he looks like a bum.

1000% yes he is all about confidence. He can score 20 goals in a season if he is happy or he can score 8

He’s by far the weirdest Barcelona player I’ve ever seen. The guy can go from being great to completely awful within a span of just seven days. There are parts of the season where he looks like he should be sold, and then there are moments like yesterday and the last game against Espanyol where he’s fantastic. I don’t know what his problem is or whether it’s a mental thing, but at the end of the day those inconsistencies just don’t make any sense to me anymore.

He should have stayed on. Even if that means both him and Lewa more or less as a two as did a few time when chasing games last season.

Thats four goals he has away to Ateltico under Flick now and was looking sharp.

I think people exaggerate his lows.

Its true he has had a number of bad games, but every player does. We know that he is not a superstar forward, but his performance variation isn't abnormal.

The most important thing is he is showing consistent improvement. His finishing is getting much better, his first touches are better, decisions etc.

If we don't make him the starting striker next season, I believe we will receive good offers for him, maybe in the region of 70m. He is very likely the best backup/rotation attacker you can get at this level, we will not be able to find a better player who is happy to accept a secondary role.

Sorloth produces the same output(stats wise, but probably more decisive) as a backup for a poorer attacking side. He cost half and has a lower salary, albeit he is 4 years older.

What's with people being afraid of replacing a guy like Ferran who usually looks like he started playing football yesterday?! If this guy doesn't profit from some blunder or doesn't have the goal on a platter he is useless. The goal he scored last night was one of the few he scored for Barca where he looked like an actual striker that knows what he's doing.

He should definitely have stayed on
Maybe sub lewa latter when we are bombing in crosses.

Small movement ball was working & he was apart of the reason why.

Flick made mistakes with the subs over both legs imo

The sub felt like a pre determined one and not one based on how game was going.

Lewa was useless and easy to defend for them as cant run.

Which was disappointing. Ferran was hot and even in the 2nd half he burried that chance in the top corner. Lamine, Ferran, and partly Olmo carried us in this game offensively.

Olmo was good in first half... should have scored his chance in 2nd though and got a bit off it from there.

It was very much Olmo, Ferran and Yamal the ones creating havoc in the first half.

Everyone kind of lost some steam in the 2nd half. The tough schedule, lack of rotations, injuries, and lack of depth all kicked in the last couple of weeks.
