7 - Ferran Torres

And that's exactly why he has 16 goals so far. His problem is lack of consistency.
These 16 goals sound better than they actually are, if we go a bit deeper:

12 LL, 2 CL, 1 SC, 1 CdR

Supercopa: He scored once in the 5:0 victory over a weak Bilbao. Pretty much worthless.

CdR: Scored once against Santander....No comment needed here as well.

CL: 2 goals against Brugge and PSG. We didn't win either game, but okay important goals.

LL: 12 goals in 8 games in total. I count only 2 games, we won because of his goals if we go by naked statistics:

- Scored once against Levante with a 3:2 victory.
- 5:3 against Betis, where he had his game of the season with a hat-trick.

His other 8 goals in LL:

Scored 1 against Mallorca 3:0, 2 against Getafe 3:0, 1 against Elche 3:1, 2 against Bilbao 4:0, 1 against Atleti 3:1 and once against Elche 3:1

31.01 against Elche was his last goal in all competitions. Nearly 2,5 months without a goal, sat only one game out completely against Sevilla. 2300 minutes in total.

And we're talking here about Flick's Barca, a system that dominates most of LL teams and lets offensive players shine with many chances in each game. We scored 80 goals so far only in LL.

his performance went from decent start until the end of September, to a mediocre performance until January to completely useless fraud since then. If it continues like this until every competition is decided and with everything above in mind, his season should be regarded as a disaster, 16 goals or not.

PS: And having only one assist doesn't make things better as well.

Not that long ago, his nickname on here was the Shark. El tiburón. When he goes through one of his hot spells, he's more than capable of capitalizing on his chances. He does so very well, hence the nickname. And that's exactly why he has 16 goals so far. His problem is lack of consistency.
That's a nickname he created himself. Imagine what a grade A idiot this guy is that he comes up with nicknames to make himself look tough.

Tuna in water.

Well, we are already in April, so it could very well happen that he doesn't score another goal this season.

As for scoring fewer goals when they really matter, this is a valid criticism of any player. So I am not dismissing this way of evaluating a player's performances, I think like this too, but it still must be handed to Ferran for being able to score 16 goals in a highly inconsistent season. But of course who they are scored against and when matter too. No doubt!

He's going through a big dip. He's obviously able to perform at a much higher level.

Haha well Barcaforum members were also using the nickname on nights when Ferran performed well.

The issue with him is it isn't just goals - its EVERYTHING.

He cannot control the ball, make a proper run, or a simple return pass. If you tell me he isn't scoring goals but at least he is functioning as a cohesive part of the team, at least adding quality on the buildup or the final third in some form or fashion, or at least playing like a fucking professional football in the most basic of standards, but he is an absolute black hole.

He is both weak mentally (this explains why he cannot control the ball, anxiety, lack of confidence) and not talented enough.

He would've had more impact at the left wing than Trashford
Don't think so. He is too slow. His mowement is way more natural for a CF than winger. Unfortunately he just can't score..

In the end, wherever we put him he will always be an average bench player and nothing more.

So sell Ferran and bring in Rashford permanently... hoping for 25-30 goals per season. That's the solution?

Sell or don't sign/resign our whole forward line except Yamal and Rapha (and maybe even him if we get 100 mil). Ferran, Rashford, Lewa and Roony aren't good enough, it's that simple.

I think Lewa could stay with lower wages and as a backup. I don’t see him coming to MLS or Saudi just yet and I doubt he wants to go to Serie A

That was pretty much impossible to miss

Well done regardless. If he can scam some goals now that league is wrapped up maybe his price can increase

There has been interest from other top clubs in the past. Ex Man U, Atlético Madrid, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Aston Villa, Newcastle. But his dip in form this season must at least be causing some hesitation before blowing 50-70m.

Past rumor has it that Newcastle was willing to spend up to 70m for him.

Watch EPL, that was a world class finish. He absolutely meant to do that because he is an intelligent footballer. Give us the 60m and hes yours

Well this is actually an important game. Winning it solidifies a 9 point lead over RM. Also right after a defeat against AM, so it's nice that we're bouncing back... as ETH would say.

Yeah, home game vs Espanyol with league already won basically.
Probably we'll need to scout 100M players to replace him!
