6 - Gavi

Am I the only one who have reservations against him? Sure he works hard and bleeds blaugrana - but is that enough? Dude doesn't offer much tbh, an alright game every now and than. Pitchforks will come out against me, but I would cash in on him this or next summer from what I've seen last couple of years. Sure he can prove me wrong this season and I hope he does, but I don't think he's close to Pedri or Xavi or Ineista - he's actually very far from being close to them.

He started off well but now is literally a poor man's Gattusso.
He's more of a mascot now,than an actual player. I don't rate him atm. I hope he proves me wrong.
 
People seriously think Gavi isn't that good and yet will play every game of the WC on probably the most stacked midfield. Then probably play 70% of the minutes next season when healthy.

We are talking Barça here, not Spain. He can be brilliant for Spain but shit for Barca.

I can only say in my opinion he was perfectly fine this season. Just like any other midfielder they are tools and must be used correctly. Flick will use Gavi like a bar of soap next season and it's only because he is a useful and good player.

He isn't Xavi or Iniesta or Busquets.
 
Be interesting to see where he lies within the Spain squad.

If Rodri goes down would think it would be Zubimendi next up and if Pedri goes down would guess it is Olmo at 10 and Ruiz back to the deeper role in a two more structured than with Pedri.

DLF will try to protect Rodri and Pedri a lot in the earlier rounds would imagine so minutes will be there for Gavi.

In Euros almost by the clock he was taking Pedri off after 60 odd minutes and Olmo on.

We will see next season when hopefully he will stay fit with no serious injury.

And there's no Pedri, Xavi, or Iniesta. Pedri is nowhere near the two.

He also starts Ferran at RW when he hasnt played as a winger in 2 seasons and was always shit when played as wide winger in the first place. Too funny. Munoz on RW, Torres CF makes more sense. Nico LW, but he might not be 100% yet despite being on bench.
 
He really struggles athletically. It limits what he can show. If you are that kind of player you really need to have football intelligence and a good reading of the game, but I don't think he does.

Even if it doesn't look like it, most 'technical' players are relying on their physical or mental attributes to be able to show themselves. There are videos of Gavi playing one touch with Spain players across an entire pitch, he obviously doesn't lack technique.

But he is seriously limited athletically and his understanding of the game is also far from top-level, he doesn't read situations well and makes the wrong decisions.
