Seen that quite a lot from him where he gets into some space and then turns around and passes it back, when it's easier to go forward. He went backwards far too often last night and final ball wasnt great.
But had some decent moments.
That first clip they show him skipping past Iraq midfielder.. he actually has a lot of room to drive/pass ball forward into.
Ended up turning backwards. Dribbling backwards and passing ball to CB there.
Looks like a normal action, Rodri extended his leg to protect the ball, and Gavi was going for it, but you see him try to stop at the last moment. Nothing sinister thereGavi is after that starting spot!

Let's hope he remains healthy because I agree he can have a big impact this season should that continue to be the case with his health/injuries
All of his past development phases have been prematurely interrupted before he could get enough consistency to have the greatest influence & impact within the team. WC could be good for him in that regard to get a jump on next season, even if he's only an occasional substitute. He's training with Pedri & Olmo there just like he would at Barça under Flick - that repetition and understanding can only be a good thing
