If he wasn't a Spaniard and an academy product, he wouldn't be near this team.
Yes the injuries had an impact surely. Currently I just don't see it happening

And if he wasn't 20 years old and if he didn't show what a huge talent he is many times before injury

Many ifs

And by the way, there is a living proof what you said is false. Christensen

Decent game and got stuck in.

Did very little with ball to progress game and they left him on it for most part.

Pedri tried to do too much on his own again.

Needs to show a lot more on ball. He cant be another Casado/Puig that passes early to first man sees open and Pedri suffered a bit for it.,

His workrate was good and got stuck in.

Looks leaner and more mobile than last season.

Played way above expectations, especially the first half. Obviously he doesn't have the stamina yet to go full length. He recovered 4-5 very dangerous balls in the first half and pressed his lungs out. Flick chose well to start him and we can only hope he stays injury free from now on. Good to have him back.

I mean when Gavi is coming in after a year away that is when you know we were in a bit of trouble.

Casado is obviously useless now
Fermin isn't a mid as much as he is a SS
Olmo actually can play mid but we need him at 10
Bernal hurt
De Jong apparently can't play more than 10 mins

Dire straits.

But Gavi was pretty decent. But he could have aimed his shot better before the whole offside goal happened and not had us in that position.

Still have some hope for him re-living that false left winger role from Xavi's winning year.

Would save us cash certainly and plenty of options in midfield without him anyway.

He looks faster and less leggy. At times before his injury he looked a little inagile and heavy.

Actually seems like he's physically improved, and that's good because he was becoming really slow.

The same issue was there again in terms of his play on the ball, he is very safe, he could do more with it, but again, was nice to see that he kept up with the pace of the game off the ball.

If he stays fit and his ligaments get stronger, as they usually do 1 year + after surgery, he will be very important. He's the player with the most intensity and grit in our midfield.

It's all about staying fit.

It may be a bold claim, but I believe 10 years from now, this core, with the proper leadership at management level from the entire club, will have produced 7-8 La Liga titles and 2-3 CLs.

We are nearly halfway there in terms of league wins after just 4 seasons.

Mentioned it many times he looks leaner.

He didnt injure his ligaments again though.

His ACL is long past and as many players have shown and likes of Bernal at Barca latest one it doesnt take 2 years.

Yeah, but I read a medicine report a while back that ties meniscus damage to a previous ACL surgery. We need to see if that knee is fine now, and if it is, our midfield will benefit.

Not to say that he doesn't need to improve on the ball.
