Pedri has been average or above average in some games. Not great by any stretch of imagination. His comparision with Jude looks more ridiculous by the day. He needs to get out of his head doing La Pausa unnecessarily and loosing the ball in dangerous areas. Frankie was good till the group stage games and was horrible against Morocco. Gordon- I think we have so low expectations from him that this looks like a great game from him. Brahim Diaz has 4 assists and has played much better than Gordon has done so far. Tbf, we have average players doing far better than average things in Barca due to Flick. Only Pedri, Cubarsi and Yamal have potential to be worldclass. The quaality of other players are pretty much visible when the teams can’t outperform against the opponent like we are seeing in this WC.

Obviously it’s a team effort but really impressive that his team still hasn’t allowed a goal in the tournament. Cubarsi himself is a key player in that feat. His every play in the tournament so far has been smart, quickly executed and without any panic. Impressive showing so far.

Spain haven't conceded in their entire qualification either except in their last game when they were qualified already and played a B team. Just shows that Barca's defensive woes aren't down to personnel, he can easily be a big part of a no nonsense defense at 18 years of age.
. obviously Barcelona defensive issues is structural first but that's a conversation for another day.
Cubarsi looks much more comfortable playing how a CB should play though

Cubarsi is performing well for Barcelona too. I really don't know what are these conversations about.
The problem is everyone in that backline except him and Joan is an idiot. Martin has gone from underrated to being heavily overrated and somehow seen as a reliable player at top level by Barca fans. To the point some have said he is our best defender by far.
The problem is we also play a very offensive style. But with better defenders we don't have to suffer as much.

Konate would have been a perfect pair. If he was on the final year, why didn’t we sign him? Honestly, if we look from either of Sengal, Congo, Ivory coast, Ecuador and Ghana at this world cup , we might find a perfect pair for him. But we have to seriously look.
