I think coming from the Barcelona defensive system to one with more balance makes coping with the pressure much easier. The processing of attacking patterns and catching disruptions s basically hard wired into brain by now.

Also you can see the experience of those big champions league sending offs when Mbappe got the better of him and he stayed on the feet rather than diving in to try and recover the play.

Spain may very well be at the same stage with Gerard Martin playing.

He and Laporte have been immense though in every aspect of being a ball playing centreback.

Also, Cubarsi>Huijsen and it's not even close either.

I gave Cuba shit here and there at times over the course of the season but it seems like playing in Flick's crazy ride for a high line made him such a better defender that playing in DLF's seems "Mudane" so to speak which is kinda funny.
 
Not for nothing I think Spain winning the WC with basically two teens at the back would have been sick.

Dean is nice and will be the pique Ramos combo for years unless another genius like cubarsi pops up.
