3 - Alejandro Balde

Nothing interesting about him anymore.

If he can get back a little of his speed that he lost for whatever reason last year, he may be better defensively.

But in attack, we can never really expect much from him considering - 1. his awful crossing that he doesn't want to improve, 2. his extreme one footedness, which limits him in many situations.

We'll see if he gets motivated by the fact Cancelo from Arabia benched his ass and at least does something to improve the defensive part. That would be helpful.

We all know the effect of this high line on defenders but at least save us the brainfarts, save us the non chalant attitude, use a little bit of that speed you have... it would be helpful

Xaviball was horrible to watch. EV and Koeman weren't much better, but Xaviball was PAIN. Static, shit footy for 75 minutes then desperate haramball, crossing to no one for 15 minutes.

The worst part was the excuses and crying after the games. Was tough to watch.

Especially Koeman and Xavi - bitching and crying and complaining and blaming everything and everybody beside themselves.
Flick is already a legend!
 
I can understand people who doubt Flick as the long term coach - even though I don't share their doubts and I would have Flick here for as long as he wants.

But his style does raise some valid concerns on how it fits in our long term plans. Because the high risk high gain style makes sense when your squad lacks in several areas and it is best to maximize the offensive potential of the team.

However since Flick arrived we have continuously improved the squad every summer. Now question is whether we still have to play this risky or we can balance things out and start controlling teams more and settling on the ball.

But what I think is that already this season and especially the one after, we will get better defensively and Flick will ease on the super offensive kamikaze style.

I am mainly talking about the league. And as for big games - high risk high gain has becone the prevalent style vs top teams. Bayern-PSG semis last season was an absolute shitshow, 5-4. Teams will ask us to show this same identity and we have to be capable of doing so.

But in league, we have to try more control, more patient build ups, more defending in cases when situations require. And Flick is definitely aware of all this, because his team is now significantly better than it was when he arrived.

There is no question whatsoever that Flick is the man for us right now. He has built a special relationship with the players and they now understand this way of playing much better. The players have grown physically and mentally too after winning the World Cup.

I can see Flick leaving Barça with a manager legacy behind only Cruyff and Pep, and on equal footing in terms of contribution and how much they gave to the club. Because where we were before Flick arrived, and now... it's 2 different worlds. And it's not over yet.

The question about liking or hating a coach is usually linked to the players.

It is a zero sum game.

If you think old Barca in 17-19 was great team that should have win the CL, then automatically the narrative is we didn't do that because of a bad coach. If you think we had good team in 2024, that means Xavi wasn't doing his job.

With Flick it us the same, if you believe the La Masia and young kids aren't doing well as you hope, the Flick is the blame.

Many consider him bad in that aspect and think he is bad news for La Masia and young signings (think of Roque for example) and how guys like Cubarsi and Balde don't look great under him.

It isn't something I agree with, but in most cases it is usually about favourites

This will probably be his last season here, his last chance which he won't take because he's simply not good enough...

The most disappointing part of Balde is that he's bad at both ends, crap in defense and clueless in terms of last pass. Would make a nice wide player if football would be played with 13 players instead of 11.

It happens, there's loads of players who start well and fizzle out just as quickly. That's Balde. Looks to me like a player who just slacked off learning stuff and relied on having superior athleticism as a kid. Now it's too late for him to change.
 
Unfortunately there is 0 buzz from us about him leaving and 0 buzz about any club being interested in him beside a brief Man U rumor which fizzled out quickly.
I just don't see it with him, at all - and many seem to think the same, it's obvious when you watch him struggle out there. So why he still here?
 
I think somebody would be willing to pay about 20-25m for him - I'd take that and run...
 
Might as well keep him if the sum is that low. Barca player in the main rotation should be 40m base and up. There's loads of teams in EPL that would get improved by signing Balde. Just because a player isn't good for Barcelona doesn't mean he's not good at lower level.
