3 - Alejandro Balde

Balde is in the team for 5 years, a vast majority as a starter. He had more than enough chances, he didn't improve so he lost his spot when we got players who are better than him, it's very simple and fair to everybody. It's meritocracy in football as it should be, he shouldn't get a free ride just because he's La Masia.

I am convinced he is at the last chance saloon and his chances look bleak but we'll see. Can you imagine if he became CDR fodder?

Putting him on now and than comparing him to what Cancelo and Espart can do out there is just unfair on him - he's not good enough, simple as...

I don't think he has any chance anymore. Maybe if Espart, Cancelo and Martin all get injured at the same time, he will play. Just hope someone buys him in January, because by the season end his value will rank.

No I agree, he has no chance - he's a "kick and run" player destined for low table EPL clubs.

No effort in training says flick.

I try to take flick at his word he seems like a straight shooter, but their is something else going on with this balde situation
Let's just pick a single situation out of countless training sessions and make our opinion about his training attitude based on that. That sounds right for the Social Media generation, that has the attention span of a tiktok video.

What if I posted 15 clips, each being 1 minute long?.

He did say the same thing about fati, who then went to Monaco and showed he'd definitely training hard. So their is prior evidence.

Ok flick boys don't come get me now.

Can tell jamrock never played football, or soccer as they say.

This situation tells you nothing about Balde's attitude in general.

We say kick ball.
Soccer lol.

What if I played table tennis wouldn't the same thing about attitude apply? 😂

Flick explained that "we have five wingers, two on the right and three on the left. No one expected Xavi Espart to play at this level. Balde must give his best version. He already gives it in training."

Statement confirms two things I've said. He kinda just fumbled into espart at LB due to the falling out with balde at the start of the season. He wasn't planning espart at LB during the summer.

By this logic we have 3 LB, 2 RB, 3CB the numbers aren't adding up.

Also Like I said balde situation isn't about him training.

Balde must give his best version. He already gives it in training.

If he's showing is best version in training, only way to confirm it on the field is for him to play no?.

No issue with him not play if it's a technical decision, that's fair enough.

The whole he doesn't train well line just never made sense and thanks to flick for clearing the air on that one.

I didn't expect him to confirm my suspicions a few hours after my post though lol.
Thought I'd have to wait a few weeks for that.

Mundo running it as their main story as well.
He's basically confirming it's a technical decision. No shot the kid had just been in training fucking around and slacking off.

Or perhaps he's finally performing in training, pretty small sample size to draw sweeping conclusion when coach says something different - a coach who so far has gotten it right on the money with every player

Seems to be 3rd choice at LB now for Flick.
I think that's unfair, but it is a question of style of play as well, and it is a fact that Espart and Cancelo fit more what Flick wants to play

He has 'EPL in January' written all over him.
It might do him good, like with Araujo. His strengths fit EPL so much better.
I see him easily starter at both Liverpool and UTD, and basically all top 6 bar Newcastle who have Lewis Hall, at the LB position
