23 - Jules Koundé

Surprisingly, he's looked really solid so far in this World Cup. Very calm and composed. But let's see how he does against Spain (if they get past Belgium). That's when he'll be truly tested.

It's not motivation but playing in an actual defensively solid system.
It's a bit of both. He's become very nonchalant about football, and he doesn't try to hide it. But Flick certainly doesn't do him or other Barca defenders any favours.

Probably the best Barca players this WC thus far have been Kounde and Cubarsi. I'm stretching it a bit, or am I?

Noone's gonna really attack him against Spain either. Beansie plays there for Spain. And he's only there because Fermin is injured and Nico fell from the wagon.

France exclusively played shit teams. Case in point, look at yesterday's Morocco lineup from a "which clubs do they play for" perspective.

Stuttgart
Sunderland-Girona-RM bench
Lille-Roma
PSV-ManU bench-Fulham-PSG

Before that they played defensive Paraguay. Before that they played Sweden who was the worst qualfying team in the tournament. Before that they played Norway C team because Norway rested entire A team.

Colour me surprised Koundé has nothing to do and looks solid.

Good that he's doing OK in this WC.

Now some EPL club should watch this and come with an offer to us. Cuz we aint going to actively sell him because of the knobheads in the board. And only then will we go for an RB.

Heck I would even pray for French to win the whole thing so we can offload this bum out of the club. Fuck me.

Not stretching at all. Pedri, Yamal, not up to their standards, Cancelo and De Jong meh, not a lot to choose from.

Olmo just ok. Seeing how well some Madrid stars played in this WC, I am pretty worried for next season.

Kounde plays in a stacked team that is not attacked much. And France have very much all the menacing wingers in their own team with the exception of Vinicius who is out. He's living the dream, can be World Champion without breaking a sweat.

At Barcelona he is under presssure far more because of a multitude of factors, and he's making dumb errors because of it. And at France he has Upamecano who is a fast tank that can cover him if anything gets past him.

But he's playing well. Passing is good, he contributes. Certainly nowhere near of a weak point in this France team. Certainly a more focused version compared to the casual side I've seen last season. But I don't think this has any effect considering his Barcelona form, everyone gives his best when everything is running smoothly, the real top players do it when things aren't always this rosey. They help reach this collective top level, not just benefit or associate with it.

If he stays he'll be under big pressure to prove this last season was an accident. Make or break.

Horrible player and hope we get rid of him asap

Solid defensively you say 🤣? Very interesting. Wonder who France faced in all these matches...

Oh wait 0 serious wingers, mostly sides that park the bus vs them and attack with 2 players upfront

If Deco was smart, he would use his flaws being hidden in this stacked France team to sell him asap. Once he stinks it up for Barca again he’ll be hard to get rid off
The kind of nonsense Deco gets shat on

People are crazy and a little dumb but not that much. At this point it's common knowledge to take every int performance with grain of salt if you want that player for your club.
