23 - Jules Koundé

Gotta keep on showing him in the shopping window so he stays relevant but he is doing his best to look sloppy and lethargic.
 
Eh... he made a huge mistake on the goal, but other than that he was actually alright.
 
With Cancelo and Espart being able to cover both flanks and Eric being solid as usual I hope Jules plays few important minutes.
 
Maybe return him to CB position? With Christiansen's injury the only CBs left are Cubarsi and Gerard Martin..
 
In lower leagues like Bulgaria players are disciplined after poor matches with what Kounde's doing.

But Kounde does it out of necessity to keep in form with Flick's physical demands. Nothing disciplinary in that, the guy works his way back to the squad. It's complimentary and professional conduct. Same I expect from Balde.
 
Twitter fed me some clip about Yamal and him combining in attack, they were a riot on that right flank, what the hell happened?

It's like a different player.
 
They weren't. He played a bit better but nothing spectacular, he was never good enough with the ball for a Barca fullback.
 
He still combines well with Yamal, certainly better than Eric. He finds the right positions and makes the right runs. But he usually fumbles the final pass or finish when he gets the ball in that position.

On top of that he is a horrible defender and bad in build up, with frequent concentration issues.
 
I would be looking to sell him this Jan. There are a few PL clubs who are desperate for a RB.

I dont know who to replace him with? Doue was my clear choice, but he moved this summer, the guy was class. Dont think Ratiu is all that.

One thing we could do is, move Cancelo to RB and get Salinas. Might be a better bet this way. Cancelo & Yamal combination might be otherworldly, which we never seem to explore. Just like Rapha CF, where a lot of forum members were asking Flick to do it, I think we should try Cancelo + Yamal on the right side. Our midfield & LW are more balanced this year(Gordon being a touchline winger, & LB playing more inverted, Rodri being the pivot so the CBs can stretch out a bit), so we can take the risk.

Use the Kounde funds to get a LCB

LB- Balde/Salinas/Xavi
RB - Cancelo/Xavi/Eric
RCB - Cuba/Eric/Christi
LCB - LCB/Martin/Christi

I would be quite happy with the following lineup for the rest of the season. While not stellar, I can see us playing the Semi of CL and doing well.
