We all loved FDJ when he played at Ajax and were excited when he came, expected huge things from him. There is/was no agenda against him, he's just a big disappointment both on and off the pitch.

He becomes much less important with Rodri's signature anyway. Even if he'll return he's a backup and fights with Bernal for minutes. Hope Bernal steps up so even him is higher in Flick's hierarchy which is not impossible and maybe Frenkie finally thinks about leaving but more likely scenario is that he becomes a leach which would fit his whole career. Footballing gods won't allow us to win the CL until all the Bartomeu's flops are gone.

I for one think that the introduction of Rodri may give us the best FDJ we have seen. Its not like Rodri will be the mainstay, I clearly see us rotating the 3 heavily, depending on tactics & availability.

But FDJ excels in verticality and ball carrying, having Rodri beside will give him more freedom & flexibility than Pedri did. Games where this is more important he will excel.

Folks saying "he played with Busi and didnt do shit" might be forgetting that Busi was old and in his last legs. He kinda was the old school metronome. We were playing a very rigid system, not the relationalism one of Flicks or modern football.

Rodri on the other hand, has learnt this, as he has more years in the modern game, he knows better what to do in a relational system. FDJ also is a box to box player who excels in relational football rather than a rigid one.

Just my two cents.
 
Frenkie was Barcas best midfielder in that last season with Busquets...and was huge in the run in with Pedri out.

Would have won double that team had Frenkie not missed 2nd leg v Real in cup he was best player on park in the home league win that won title and one of if not best when beat them 1-0 away in first leg of cup.

Did well with Busquets when Xavi sorted team out.. and the season before with Koeman he was 2nd best player after Messi and was playing near on every position on park and getting 14 goals/assits.

Messi love playing with him that season. See cup final v Bilbao as clear example why.

He's certainly disappointed with him. Frenkie put his own desires before Barca, playing with a damaged knee knowing the risk. Fuck his excuse that his doctors told him all good. He's not 19, but a 29 year old professional athlete with over a decade experience. He knows his body.
Especially with his injury history these last few years. This injury was 100% avoidable.
 
I mean he is injured and the drop to Gavi and Bernal is huge as we seen and Pedri with them wasnt the same either.

Double whammy stopping Real getting Rodri also.

As said.. had heard Rodri preferred Barca move months ago but that Real was far far more likely.
 
Gavinoe needs to win his balls back before we talk about him in first team dynamics. Both on, and off the pitch.

It's normal for people to get excited about every new promising player of their favorite club academia. Doesn't mean opinions wont change over time after seeing the development.
Let's mention Puig, who hasn't been at the club for 10+ years by now, one more time to own the pining losers, who disagree with you on something, McJams.

Frenkie has been mediocre, but our standards in recent times have been low overall, so guess can make an argument that he was good signing overall. Sometimes good, sometimes shit, as an old Roman sage once said. Never a world beater though. Not saying that Pedri is. He's been underwhelming lately too, but he has lot of time still. Frenkie should've been peaking, but he's either injured or meh.
 
Given that you ferociously respond to every poster in the Frenkie/Ferran or whoever you're advocating this time, threads with double and triple posts, even to posters that entirely ignore and never respond to you, pining takes levels above in your performative art.
