He plays exactly like that except in Barcelona losses the ball more often. I would not say why because we had enough back and forth but a certan player only passes in desperate situations. Luckily for Olmo he is not in form to get him in trouble and Olmo is the leader of the attack and he can dictate all the game.

It's because Club football is much faster with less space. International football allows him to exploit disorganised opponents and look a diamond.

You are right except for France and Spain. France has quality, they train from youth in an academy, they have a coach that values tactics and organization. Vs Argentina he flipped the whole game with his changes so he is not clueless like many NT coaches.
This game was vs a team better than Atletico in my opinion. It's about space but you also can create space by not pushing a whole team in the box with fancy moves and passing to your teammates only when you run out of ideas. And that affects their confidence in the long run too, because lossing the ball because others were first stings, trying some impossible shots while you are against 2-3 players also makes you feel incapable of scoring. Just saying, I don't want to expand because here some discuss marvel football.

I have it the other way around. Olmo made stuff happen with technical skill in the most difficult area to play in.

But Rodri coming back to the form of a few years ago for the final stretch of the World Cup is the biggest improvement for Spain.
