He certainly found his form again, good for us. Doesn't make his defending better, but at least he's decent enough in the attack. It also shows how bad Balde's output has become, if Cancelo feels like a big upgrade.
It'll depend on Al-Hilal, if we sign him or not. The club wants him to stay, he wants to stay, but the priorities will be on CB and probably striker/LW. So if they demand too much, Barca will pass.

He should 100% start at LW. Rashford is simply not good enough.

Play him at RB and let him and Lamine cook. Sell Kounde, Balde and Araujo and invest in a LB. (if only we could bring Cucu home)

Although truthfully we took a step back with him as it relates to winning & making a run in the CL if we are being objective, we would have won the league with or without him.
But he added value to the team, giving balde some competition, he'll be forced to improved his short comings faster now. Which is mainly crosses.
Need someone similar at RB.

The '2nd best LB in world' Balde as some claim him to be needs to wake up or time will come to an end.
Balde comes across as arrogant and smug above his station too often.
From comments in Spanish press they want Cancelo coming in to be a wake up call and either decide he wants to fight to be one of best in the world or leave.
Read as if he doesnt have much desire to work on his obvious weaknesses and is on final warning.

Balde is a typical example of a player with mentality problems. One good debut season and instead of building on it he starts to get cocky and produces nothing.
He has to question himself and figure out what he wants to do with his career. Every other player managed to improve under Flick in the last 2 seasons, except for him.
He is first one out the door for me if a good offer comes. He has some ability, but he just doesn't do anything with it to help the team. And is a bad defender.
