We will see in these 5 games. I think it will help Flick a lot in evaluating his true level. In those 10 minute cameos you hardly see anything. Now he will play full 90s for a few games and we will see. Maybe if he shows something great he might play more next season. There is also that combo with Roony RW and Yamal centre which was superb against Betis this season

I think 15-20 mil € is a lot of reasons to try selling him in our situation.

My prediction is that a serious SD could sell Roony for a sum like that but we have Deco so maybe you're right and in reality we don't get anything for him.

But Roony didn't play 1 minute in AM or LW so it's hard to expect Flick will change it next season. I agree Roony should get chances in other positions this season but Flick doesn't see it like that.

Getting him for such a low amount should have raised enough eyebrows and toned down the expectations. The guy was a Barca B player and only our lack of first team squad depth has given him the chance to feature for Barca.

How are people so gullible to think 2.5M gets you a wonderkid from FC Copenhagen in 2025, I'll never understand.

He lacks confidence and he lacks some speed when needed. Beggars can't be choosers, if we don't buy anybody else as winger backup we pretty much must keep him. Roony has some qualities, some very good ones - but he needs to express them on the field and should have been given more minutes and Yamal rested more. But Flick and Yamal think otherwise which makes Roony's future difficult in Barca.
Even if we bring in another winger backup that's let say 10% "better" than Roony - he'll still have nothing on Yamal. Yamal is the best forward I've seen since Messi...

Keep Roony another season, he's cheap. But take a chance on another winger backup or two - Trashy needs to leave, dude doesn't have any footballing IQ to save his life. But if we sign Silva though than we have backup for CM, ACM and RW - in such case just sell Roony if we have any takers for 20M.

He has already shown he has the talent to be a reliable Backup for Yamal. This is Yamal we are talking. It will be hard to find a backup for him, at best it will be off Roony's level.
Why waste money? When we have other positions to figure out.
If Roony is unhappy with his playing time and is adamant for a sale or loan, then it's different. But we shouldn't go out of our way to take him ou of this team.

His left is dangerous, this is patently clear and he is an intelligent link up player but ineffective on the wing and we're already loaded with AMs

Roony is the 6th option in attack who is a cheap buy on a low salary, aged 20 and in his first full season after ACL, which just happened to be in a new country.
Rashford is a 28 years old player, who didn't have major injury in half decade, he is one of the best paid players in the team, and his buyout clause is 12 times that of Roony.

If you want to compare him to players of this role and status in the Barca of the past, it will be the likes Jeffren, GDS, Sandro & Munir. Not Rashford.

If he leaves, I suspect it will be the same type of Nico Gonzalez deal. We will sell cheap with resale percentage and hope the later will get us the biggest money. I doubt it will be a factor in FFP next year.

And a player saying he feels he deserved more minutes isn't questioning the manager. He was asked the question and answered in the most honest and respectful way.
