I get that we want to get the best price possible but if City doesn't budge why are we risking it all for 10 millions? If we are really offering 100+ mil for Alvarez it means we have enough funds/ffp and we won't use them for Alvarez. So why not at least buy Rodri and Cancelo with a small part of that money/ffp? At least sort out the midfield if Deco is uncapable to get a striker and/or a CB.

I'm getting more pessimistic each day about this deal, it's starting to look like another Nico/Alvarez saga without the happy ending.
 
60+10 and be done with it.

Why don't these guys just sit down in a room and talk it out instead of dragging this out by sending a bid every 24h. Surely both parts know what sum will be the final fee, I'm starting to think it's being stalled on purpose.

That’s supposedly more or less what it looks like, since Deco knows Hugo Viana and Ferran Soriano very well. But I’m really curious how exactly this works, considering how long it’s dragged on. They say, “we want 80m,” Deco says, “55m + €10m.” And then after that conversation, do they just go home and think about it? :D

I don't get that either. They know each other, Fabrizio confirmed they are talking directly, they know what they can afford. Sit down and work it out, it should take a couple of hours not days, weeks or months. My biggest hope is that it's already done and they are waiting for Enzo or that Maroccan midfielder to be closed too but that's probably only my coping mechanism.

That's what's more or less happening according to Romano. It's not like Barca sends an official offer that gets refused and they wait for another offer. They constantly talk and the offers are verbally done after these talks. It's a fluid conversation, that's why all parties remain confident to make the deal in the end.
 
Everyone wants to tie up their replacements before confirming deals, while the money side work on the payment plans, intricacies, clauses and anything else they may try to roll in.

City may want to close up Enzo or Bouaddi before those selling clubs ask for more, and the knock on is that Lens or Chelsea themselves may want to activated replacements before they inflate.

Think of it like buying a house but waiting for the tenant to arrange their new property before completing the deal.
 
But they agree to sell Reijnders today, the same logic could apply there and they didn't wait for Enzo to be done.
 
Could suggest they still need added cap mileage to add 3 midfielders costing over 350m- hence forcing Reindeers out quickly through the backdoor to their Aramco buddies.

Im guessing they don't meet Chelsea's 5pm Enzo deadline (whatever that means) if Barca don't agree terms with Rodri today.

Because Deco could fall in a barrel of gold and come out sucking his thumb.
