16 - Fermín López

EPL dipshits are worth 100m. This guy is Barca player, LaLiga winner with killer season. Easily 100m+
Olise went to Bayern for 53M and he's in another stratosphere when compared to Fermin.

Ferran Torres also has good numbers and a Barca player and LL winner. Maybe he's 150M as he's a striker, no?

like wirtz was worth 150
Discussion here is not about finding a sucker to pay your fantasy 100M+ fee. And tbf Wirtz is the better player, just overinflated fee.
But to get that overinflated fee Fermin has to show something similar to what Wirtz showed before Liverpool. And he's not that kind of player.

Bayer Leverkusen found their sucker in Liverpool. I am not saying Fermin quality is worth 150 mil just that mid EPL players are worth more than LaLiga champs. And Fermin showed more than Wirtz this season

Yeah, but things don't work like that. If Aston Villa come in with a bid they won't think about comparing what Liverpool paid for Wirtz.

The advantage is we don't need to sell. We're winning titles with Fermin and he scores and creates goals in big games for us. You pay more because of his age also.

The bigger problem is not that you won't find EPL teams to come up with big offers. The issue is we will always have difficulties in offloading players to weaker teams because they don't wanna go.

Who in their right mind would leave Barcelona to sign for fecking Tottenham for example. Or Newcastle. Or Villa. Just because you can buy something by having the money for it, doesn't mean you can actually do it. There's many things that play a part.

We can only sell prominent players to equally successful or big clubs.

My stance remains the same as last summer.

He should not be sold under any circumstances.

He played great this season. My only gripe with him is that he gets greedy and shoots when he has better options but whatever.

In a random top team, if a player scored and assisted in these numbers through 2 season while being one of the hardest working players in his team he would be worth 100 million easily.

Only in Barca he's being undervalued and questioned season after season.

The type of clubs we'd receive that fee from are not clubs he would be interested in going to as @serghei mentioned.

Selling valuable players on the rise who are already at a top club necessitates that they will not take a step down unless there's reason to do so. If he is not playing here, for example, or he wants much more money. But he has an important role here and he's successful, so he has no reason to take a risk which could backfire.

Those middling/EL EPL teams overpay often because they can't access the top calibre of player by normal means, so they convince them to come with big money. But the likes of Bayern, Man City, Madrid etc can get the top level of player without massively overspending so they'd be less interested in paying big amounts for Fermin, they will look for players better than him.

Exactly. Players who were playing often at Barcelona and left? Neymar. Sanchez left to Arsenal, but then only after Suarez was signed and he was basically invited to leave. There's not many top players who choose to leave a club like Barcelona. Most are pushed out. The ones who leave us by choice do so only in special circumstances the the top 5-6 clubs in Europe.

Now, if we decide to sell Fermin because we don't think he is good enough, it's a different situation. But everyone likes him, the manager likes him. He is a main player here, and plays a lot even in big games. We are not going to push out players who played important roles in what looks like a second title winning campaign in a row. It makes no sense.

Could have added two more goals yesterday had it not been for poor decision making by Rashford and Lewy.

Two criminal cases of selfishness really.

Yamal
Joan
Fermin
Garcia

Our best players this season.

He lacks pause but makes up for it in other areas

Heard a pundit on CBS Golazo call it "Fermin's La Liga" and part of me agrees with it. Massive contribution to the squad with Raphinha out and most fans thinking that it would be very difficult to get the same energy in a match. Obviously he can't play on the wing like him but his work rate and physicality was much needed to put a lot of games to bed. Had some key passes and assists in matches where we desperately needed points (Bilbao away, Espanyol away, Celta away, forgetting a few others).

Huge improvement from last season too. Hopefully he keeps it up and doesn't pull a Balde
