14 - Karim Adeyemi

I wouldn’t say Rashford was lazy for us, wired differently than what is required perhaps but I have zero complaints about Marcus and would’ve welcomed him back with open arms if ManYoo had lowered the fee. I don’t think you have to criticize one to compliment the other anyway

Adeyemi had a rep that is fairly known at Dortmund that was ‘controversial’. So did Auba, so did Cancelo for that matter and ultimately they were great players at Barça. He has to convince me with his consistency but we got a glimpse of what he can provide to this team today and frankly he probably can still show quite a bit more so a massive addition IMHO irrespective of criticisms about his past. He’s here and he looks motivated to contribute
 
His pace and ability will cause the opposition alot of headaches if his motivation levels are high.
 
Adeyemi is much better player then Rashford.

Younger, higher potential, better overall and much cheaper.

Rashford has wage on level as Vinicious, and he performs as Mudryk.

Already better than Rashford in terms of directness out wide and actually beating his man. If he can also give us a similar scoring output and stay fit, he will be a great player for us.
 
He is a player who can easily get a hattrick for us during the season. Also one of those players who can be about as dangerous as Kounde with ball in opposition box.

If somebody can polish him he will dominate. Big if however.
 
He looks as fast as Mbappe. If he becomes consistent with his end product we will have a WC player.

If anyone can get the best out of a forward player it's Flick. So far I love both the Adeyemi and Gordon deal.
 
What an joy to finnaly he 3 fast players in attack.

Can't wait for our oponents to press us with 3 beasts at front plus Rodri and Pedri at CDM positions
 
I would be careful not to overestimate his level. He is very fast, but he has consistently underperformed in production for a reason.

He is imprecise in the final action and often is unaware of what's going on around him. He is also not technically strong.

He can be useful, but in specific situations against tired defenses, he is not that capable of complicated actions.

Rashford is far better with the ball. The main advantage Adeyemi has over him is indeed off-ball work. Adeyemi's workrate and stamina is much better.

However, Rashford is several levels higher than him technically and with his attacking instinct.

Adeyemi is younger, so he has room to grow, but I do believe Rashford is a better player despite having poor defensive contribution.

Rashford's ball control is nothing special, which he showed here. I think Adeyemi will prove he's not any worse at least.

It's more about his profile rather than ball manipulation. Rashford is more capable of finalising a play with a cross or a shot. He is much better at using space. Rashford's fatal flaw was that he doesn't run and barely presses which is why we didn't sign him, if he had a high workrate he would be a top winger.

From what I have seen, Adeyemi is not good at taking the next decision at all, if he passes a player, he doesn't make the decision fast enough after that. I also am not sure that his 1v1 ability is exceptionally strong.

He can be a good sub or alternative option to create some chaos and distract opposing defenders, but he doesn't have the consistency in his decisions or technical ability to be able to score goals regularly. To me, it looks like sometimes he doesn't know what to do with the space.

I don't think it will be that easy for him to match Rashford's numbers, and that is with Rashford having been highly inconsistent himself.
