14 - Karim Adeyemi

I believe a player who ultimately underperformed at Dortmund when we had first shown interest in the player, he has a lot to prove to convince fans. He has to do the work as the player publicly acknowledged was Flick's only key message - you have to work. Let's see if he can produce something better than he has so far in his young career. Plus, he's effectively an upgrade on Roony for whom we ultimately got very little end product much less assists last season

His speed and dribbling alone makes him a danger for any defense which creates opportunities for others, provided he makes the right decisions
 
His touches are pretty damn good.

A few times he left his marker for dead on the left and right with his pace and first touch.
 
Very solid performance. For someone who has barely watched him play before he surprised with his pressing on top of making solid runs.
 
Let's wait and see about pressing over 90 mins. I have doubts.
He does have technique and solid shot.

I am pessimistic about him scoring more than Rashford.
 
Only thing I didn't like was him slowing the game down nearly everytime he got the ball. But obviously he needs to get used to Flick ball and he'll tell him to improve there. Other than that, a good performance.

Early on I could see defenders were showing him middle, playing tight to block him from going wide and he kept reversing the ball backwards. Only 1 or 2 occasions where he took the chance and then suddenly he was on the left in the 2nd half where he was responsible for Hamza’s goal. Gordon & Adeyemi, these are fantastic additions and will ultimately prove to dwarf the contributions of Roony & Rashford from last season. Especially tactically, they press and they require defenders taking notice while linking up with their teammates

Same what happened at Dortmund, he had games where you think he is world class just to have 5 horrible games after. Absolute unreliable player, I hope he isn’t as lazy here as he was at Dortmund.

Wrt lazyness, I think Barca is too big for anyone to slack off under the right manager, unless you are genuinenly retarded.

It's like you work for an unknown small company and go through the motions but then Apple comes in with an offer. You definitely give it your all and show different motivation at that point.

Well not necessarily, you have Rashford for example.

People call it laziness but sometimes it's not that. I think Rashford wanted to do all he could but he didn't know how or when. There are players with no tactical discipline.
