Should have been tried there at least last season before basically before forced to play him in this position because we had no other choice.

He was clearly going to cook in that position he has all the tools.

Wouldn't be surprised if Carlo tries him at CF.

Couldn't rely on Rashford last season fam.

Skinny Fat is doing a great job systematically and pressing so far.

Early days, shite rivals so far, but optimistic that Flick has actually found a solution to not signing and central forwards.
 
He's good at running into open space and working the channels, but that was already known.

Jury still out for me when it comes to being a striker against some serious opposition and parked buses. But maybe the fact that our tactics are different and he's running around all the time will help him more than playing like a classic striker.
 
Really hope him and Flick make an agreement how much he plays and how he rotates. He's not capable to rest during games and his body won't survive playing at such intensity every 3 days for 90 minutes. Hope Rapha is now mature enough to understand it and Flick to force himself to rotate.

Rashford was reliable enough last season in the league.

The amount of frankly easy games Barca or any other top team has per season it's enough for coaches to try something new to see if it has potential TBH. Whether it be from the start or after being up a few goals.
 
He is the only prolific goalscorer we have in attack. Gordon, Adeyemi and Jesus have far far lower numbers, and Yamal is more of a creator.

This is why signing a reliable backup was important because we really need to keep him fit for the CL runin.

We are putting a lot of weight into him, it is essential that he is regularly rested.
 
So this could actually be a BdO season for him as he is the undisputed leader and goalscorer of Flick's Barça. Yes he will have to be managed well to keep him healthy for business end of season but the squad is so deep and talented it might provide the platform to ensure a BdO...on top of a treble

The way he has leveled up under Flick is already legendary, seems clear he is well on his way to becoming one of the most legendary Brasilians to ever play for Barça

For sure. Guy is an animal. I haven't seen any other top attacker be as hard working as this guy. And it's not about ground coveres, but the intensity. He basically does one high intensity sprint after another. We need this in CL quarters and semis. Not vs Rayo and Elche.
 
13 Barca players scored in first 3 rounds. Only Kubala, Cayetano Re and Cesc did it in first 4 games, and Cesar Rodriguez and Ibrahimovic did it in first 5 games.

Zlatan is the only player to do it in his first season, which was coincidentally his last.

Let's hope Raphinha scores in his fourth game today. Needs to score in next 3 league games to stand alone.
