11 - Raphinha

Long term contract is a risk and Raphinha gets muscles injuries for what basically Gordon was bought for - pressing like headless chicken.
I never said long term, if we extend then hopefully for a medium-length performance based contract. His harmstring injuries this season in combination with his age are surely alarming. And with Gordon, we have more weight in the extension talks now.

Let's see. There is still a chance a good Saudi offer comes later this summer. For 70-80m that allows us good signings, I'd let him leave.

Every year 2 hamstring injuries.

If club was smart they would, sell him asap while we can get replacment
Injuries or not, Barca should have sold him when his value was really high last summer. We could still sell him to Saudi perhaps and bring some generational winger

Another big injury.

I like him as a player, but we need to sell him, while we can get generation talent for it...

We can ship him for 90mil without doubt and get Diomande.

He also said he will not make problems on exit, he is 30 years old with a lot of hamstring injuries...

Worst thing is, all of them are on same leg.

It is not yet confirmed it's a harmstring injury. Only 1 source reported it

If it is then I have to say it's got to the point where it's pretty worrying

The good thing is we have signed a proper LW so even if he gets injured next season a lot we won't suffer as much as we did in last 2 seasons

But the club needs to think, if there really are some serious offers from Saudi. And if his sale would help us attain likes of Alvarez.

Nobody is paying 90m fee + 20m salary for a near 30 year old player with 3 harmstring injuries in half a year, who had exactly one worldclass season thanks to Flick's system, while being worse under any other coach.

Further Leipzig already refused a 100m offer and value Diomande much more than that. Not to mention that we just spend a huge amount of money for a LW, we won't do another transfer of this magnitude or higher for the same position.

Neither is going to happen.

Wasn't news some days ago that Al Hilal want to offer 90 mil for him ?
Who knows if that was a serious rumor to begin with and in any case, that was before his current injury. In combination of Saudi league started to spend less money, I don't see them offering this package for Rapha. I'd be glad if they're that stupid and do it, but I don't see it now.

They want him long time ago, and there reports every year about it.

For them it is nothing, even I agree that they started to spend less.

I belive 80mil is fair price, and we can have great sub for that money.

Why aren't they releasing him. A big part of his issue is that he was constantly rushed back and forced into action without being fully recovered imo. A muscular injury at this stage is World Cup over. Just release him. Will only make matters worse if he tries to play again, this nonsense has to stop.

Whatever we can get for him...his hamstring injuries are now becoming a yearly occurrence. As others have said, we should have sold him last year. But better late than never.

Vampeta : "Raphinha has serious economic and family problems. He is relying on the possibility of leaving to Al-Hilal".

Looks like Raphinha is the liar, not these journalists. He kept denying publicly that there was anything in the rumours, but there is no smoke without fire, these teams are not pursuing him for years and years given that he has zero interest.

As I mentioned before. They will not keep aggressively pursuing a target who has made it clear that he is not interested time after time. They obviously think it is realistic for one reason or another.

I have no problem if he leaves because he wants it. Just pay 100m and that's that. Wouldn't be the first time Sport publishes bullshit regarding Raphinha though.

Makes little sense to leave now. Arabia will always be there 2-3 years from now for him.
It probably was true and Raphinha was trying to preserve his image for the fans by denying it.

There are a lot of varied sources telling that he has interest in going to Al Hilal, and he himself said he was close to going to Saudi Arabia before Flick convinced him to stay.

There is some interest there on his part and if the offer is good enough he will probably leave.

How is it possible a man on 200k a week or whatever has serious economic problems ?

Is :bartomeu: his financial advisor?

What next ? We gonna see him on GoFundMe or some shit?

Basta ya Vampeta.

Google what many Brazilian or NBA stars do with all their millions of €. It's not impossible it's true even though it seems crazy to a normal person.

Is he a gambler or doing copious amounts of high end coke? How in fuck can you have "economic problems" with that money, while being glorified manual laborer?
