I dont see much in him, not 50m worth atleast, and no way he can replace Olmo/Fermin.

Using the funds to get Yildiz/Barcola plus a future striker like Espi or Panichelli would be a good deal. And we still go for a striker like Osimhen/Pedro.

Barcola and Yildiz are absolute shit compared to Diomande.

We already signed the Raphinha replacement if he leaves, we won't buy another expensive winger alongside a striker.

Maybe that is reason why we bought Gordon, he is same player as Rapinha, in terms of style.

I remember one juornalist saying one big name will leave on summer, and it will be painful...But on other hand Rapinha said like he will not go...So who knows, maybe he have some doubts.

If he goes, and we can't get Alvarez, it could be tricky.

Actually the game yesterday suited his style, he was just unlucky with the offside.
Otherwise the game yesterday also had all the hallmarks of why it would be wise to sell now. His game is heavily influenced by his pressing, same pressing that gets him injured + he lacks finesse in his finishing. Too much of a system player to be on the same level as Vinicius, even if he can produce great numbers in the right system.

I still stand by this:

Personally I have nothing against an extension, but only under one condition. A highly performance based contract. He'll be 30 this year and the first thing players lose with age, are their stamina and legs in general, the biggest strength of Rapha. If we give him a new 5 year contract with close to 20m/y salary without performance conditions, the club will do the same mistake as with the amigos. So as long as he's still highly important and plays on the level, everything is okay. But once he starts to run less, get more injured, his salary should follow accordingly and then it won't hurt to bench him if necessary.

Long term contract is a risk and Raphinha gets muscles injuries for what basically Gordon was bought for - pressing like headless chicken.
