11 - Raphinha

Yeah and as loki mentioned its even more sad that the injury happened in a friendly match...

I see PSG and Bayern above Barca this season but with a bit luck we could have beaten them in final

That's what I think too. Over 2 legs PSG or Bayern have an advantage but in one match final anything is possible.

With just a bit of more luck (refs?) we could have made 2 finals under Flick.

and then today this:

This is all our shitty board and president pushing people out with a smear campaign ("mentally affected by the injury 🤣😂") similar to the one did to Frenkie and many others, when the incompetent bozo needs to sell because we are still not in the 1:1 and he has been messing that up the last 5 years

Hope Raphina stands his ground, refuses to budge, and stays put.
The fat liar should find another way to get us to 1:1 and soon...

I have to say I'm not sure that this story shown is completely accurate. Mentally affected by the exit to Atletico? A strange choice of words. I need to read it in Spanish. Disappointed maybe, would make more sense.

But I don't think it's impossible that he has some interest in leaving.

However yes, it's starting to become clear he is the player marked for a possible big sale. I thought the painful sale line was referring to him to begin with because the board had already approved his sale in the past.

They probably reckon since he has some interest in leaving if the right offer is made, and that he is turning 30 in December, he would be the most ideal candidate for a significant fee.

The truth is that his head might already be turning and we run the risk of not getting anything in a couple seasons. So unless he is sure that he wants to continue, do you think we should consider it?

You are pissed when Frenkie tried to do the same thing. Gotta stay consistent are to your mind there is a difference in the situations?.

No, I was not pissed at Frenkie at all.
The incompetent Bartomeu handed him a 6 yr contract in 21 with deferred wages. That was the person I was pissed with.
I was, and am, also pissed at the fat bozo running our club, who is looking for panic sales to get us into 1:1 after failing to do so properly and in an organized manner for 5 consecutive years, while gaslighting the fans

Right. The article basically says that Raphinha told the club he is thinking about his future because he's not sure that he has any more to give or that he can come any further than he has already.

His goal was to win the Champions League and the Ballondor and the article implies that he's starting to think it won't be possible, so he might want to call time on his career at the top level and probably move somewhere else to get a big contract. He sees those as the only two targets left in elite football for him.

I can believe it. It makes sense. The interview he gave in 2025 about the Saudi Arabia offer carried a lot of the same undertones. He thought that his career at the top level couldn't go any further and he was very tempted to cash out, because in his view, he wasn't sure if he could achieve more than he has already.

The journalist says it's most likely he will continue and try again to win the CL and Ballondor in 2027, but that his recent injuries and the defeat to Atletico have made him start to consider whether he can realistically fight for those targets.

All of that is to say, if this information is correct, his only remaining motivation is that he wants to win the Ballondor and CL. He doesn't want to keep playing at the top level if those can't happen.

One of the thoughts surely has to be that in 24/25, if we hadn't thrown the tie against Inter, and we managed to win the final, he would have almost certainly won the Ballondor. And this next season we've regressed slightly in that we were knocked out in QF.

It might depend on the transfer movements. If we don't improve our team it might make him more interested in leaving.

Lolol, chill the fuck down - it's all silly rumors so far, don't get your panties in a twist. EVEN if it's true that somebody is leaving and it will be extremely painful - it could be Kounde or Balde, maybe painful for some but not for me lol. Could also be Ara, painful? I'd be painfully happy 😂

Dude still has at least 2 season to make a huge difference for us... if we sell and sign the right players this and next summer we can go for CL with Raphinha.

We should keep him, but he should only play big games and few more.
His body is about to break down.

Gotta use him wisely

I do think winning the CL in the next 2-3 seasons is highly unlikely if we don't make major improvements in the market.

We have amazing players. The problem is the variance in quality is way too high. You have Yamal, Pedri, Frenkie, then you have Araujo or Martin.

We also don't have a natural striker for next season. Ferran Torres is comfortable there but its not the position he's played for most of his career and even though he is good, we'd like better to pair with Yamal and Raphinha.

All of this is coming before the gaps we'd have to fill if we did sell players. We won't be able to make these signings without selling starters, that's the truth.

And you think this is plausible?

It screams "LIE" from distance

A starter leader and protagonist for a top4 side in Europe never thinks "oh I didn't win CL or Ballon D Or this season, so I may call 1st tier football a day now"

His past interviews were very different. The point was that the club wanted him out, and the coach did not believe in him, so he was starting to think about it. Then Flick came, revived his career and took him to the next level (his own words).

I am 100% sure this is crafted by the same Laporta-organized mechanism that did the media smear campaigns against certain players in the past

Just last season he talked about wanting to leave, 1 ywar after Flick
Stop talking please

Also winning the Blondor should not be one of his goals. His game isnt built for that.

I have no problem if he leaves if he is replaced properly.

He played 1300 out of 3000 possible minutes this season in La Liga and despite coming clutch in big games (Ballon d'Or motivation?) he goes quiet in a lot of bread and butter La Liga games, especially against deep blocks. He has scored in 2 La Liga games in entire 2026.

But since he would be replaced by Ansu Fati like Inigo got replaced by "refreshed Araujo", there is no point discussing this. Maybe slim chance Galata could be enticed for a swap with Osimhen.

If Barca had won the CL last season, Yamal would have won Ballon D'or purely due to hype and vibe, despite Raphinha deserving it 110%. Raphinha even ranked 5th in joke of a rankings..
