Miss you captain

Of the 8 losses this season, 6 have come when Raphinha has not played and one was the game against Chelsea when he came on in the second half with the match already gone.
Has his flaws but you have to acknowledge the positive influence he has on the team when on the pitch, especially in CL ties.

It's logical. Flick's system needs running legs above all. To defend and attack, because otherwise the highline gets exposed. Rapha runs for 2 players, so he's indispensable for Flick.

I also blame Rapha for his latest injury. He's nearly 30 years old, should know his body better than any team physician. Especially because he already had 2 thigh injuries this season, missing 16 games. Then you don't go all out in a fucking friendly match, if you're in the hot phase of the season you work the entire year for.
He must have known better than this and it cost us one CL round at the very least.

He has not been as sharp this year as he was last year but he is still a crucial player for the team. Miss you mister.

Came across some stat about our record with his this season, can't remember exactly what it was.

But we are a much better team with a 70% raphinha than we are without him.

But even with a stop start season he's putting up good numbers, but has not gained the momentum needed for WC performances back to back

Craziest stat I've seen is goals conceded with Raphinha 0.9 pg, without 1.8 pg. Which just show how dependent Flick's system is in big games on hard, relentless pressing upfront.

We concede twice as many goals than usual when Raphinha doesn't play.

Some more "fun" facts.
With Raphinha vs AM this season: goal difference 6 - 1.
Without Raphinha vs AM this season: goal difference 2 - 7.

Those stats are helped when Raphinha misses away to Real and Ateltico in league and doesnt play v Atletico in CL, PSG or start v Chelsea.

Most of his games this season have been against the poorer teams in CL and league.

Of the current top 7 teams in La Liga Raph has missed the away games v Real, Atletico, Celta, Betis, Real Sociedad. Only played one game v a top 7 team away.

In CL he missed PSG at home, Chelsea away.. came on but didnt start and Atletico at home.

Also red cards in big games killed team a bit as have with Raph in team in past.

He is one of best players but those stats are skewed by games he has missed also.

Except he was man of the match vs Atletico and Real Madrid in 2 of the 3 games he played against them. 3-1 league game, 3-2 Supercup final. So...

Aye, we also had red vs Benfica away last season in CL Last 16. Guess who scored for us in 10 men from absolutely nothing?

Real in Supercup in awful form. Nice game to win but not as big as the others.

Fact remains he has missed the toughest games this season by an large.

Played ONE game vs a top seven team and missed games v best teams in CL for most part.

Dont think he has been that great this season overall really.

In the big games he played this season, he was man of the match in most. Not a very good argument.

You have Madrid Supercup final, MOTM
Atletico league game at home, MOTM
Newcastle decider, MOTM.

We didn't play many tougher teams than that.

PSG, Chelsea, Real away in league when top and in form, Atletico away in league, Atletico at home in CL with 10 men for most.

As said he has played in ONE league game away to top 7 teams and when available probably has less goals/assists in league and CL than Rashford. Would need to check.

Missed the vast majority of toughest games in league and CL.

On top of that when missed other of the best players almost always been out also. Not just Raph.

Barca drop a lot when have two or more of their best 4/5 players and then impacts the bench.

Biggest single game this season prior to this Atletico double in CL was Newcastle at home. Man of the match again. Also, Supercup Clasico is more important than a league game clasico early in the season, since a title is on the table. Man of the match again.

Man has the best end product in big games in the entire team.

Newcastle with injuries are not one of top teams Barca faced overall and even if is it fact remains he missed the majority of games v better teams in league and CL.

As said when he has been missing others have also and that Supercup game v Real Frenkie was best player and v Atletico in league it was Pedri.

But goals can grab headlines.

No chance is Supercup more important than league classico and it was two very different Real teams.

Hasnt been that great this season really overall but is missed.

Lamine Yamal is our no1 most important player, because of his age (much much younger than Raphinha), and because of his performances over the entire season.

For big games though, Raphinha is our best player.

Yamal is by far most important and isnt close.

Raphinha is not the best in big games either. Wasnt last season and a classico cup final doesnt change that.

Yeah, well for Flick and Simeone, it doesn't get any better than Raphinha. You can't ignore end product and workrate.

Simeone would choose Raphinha over Yamal 10 times out of 10. What a crazy notion that Simeone would ever choose Yamal instead of Raphinha.

If Rashford has more end product in league and CL than Raphinha this season not matter if thats he case?

When played the tougher minutes.

Only when Raphinha gets goals/assists?
