Well, I think fans & the club should be concerned about the conservative option that the player has opted for knowing reoccurrence of this injury is very high without surgery. Not the same injury but it does remind me of the Ansu Fati case and the division between the different POVs and medical advice. Here, clear that player & RFEF are pushing hard to ensure the world's best player is available for a more & more ridiculous WC
Surgery (reattaching the tendon) significantly reduces the risk of future tears. For a club that pays his wages and views him as a minimum 15-year asset, a missed World Cup is a small price to pay for a leg that will still allow him the burst he will need. Since club has signed off on this conservative approach, gotta think they also have a clause to ensure if he aggravates it during WC he must go under the knife
But, again, here we have an 18 year old star of the game who is already playing a big load pressured/advised into the quick TAT option over what's best long-term - feels irresponsible and I have to question whether the board are managing this as best as they can
