Yamal's mother seems like a good woman and most of the positive things in Yamal's personality probably comes from her.
But his father also, despite clearly being a retard, has engraved some things into Lamine's mind. I think the fighting spirit and competitive stubbornness comes from his father, who is an over-confident, self-backing individual. These people teach their children that they have to win and that they can do whatever they want, because they believe that for themselves too.
But like I said, there is nothing about his mother that gives me vibes she is anything like hustle hard. The fact she choose him means nothing lol. I know a bunch of completely normal people who choose to date and sometimes even marry absolute morons. It usually doesn't end well, like in this case where they broke up.
