It's not the worst decision ever seen on a football pitch, but it's the worse of the two most obvious options in that moment. Some players will shoot, some players will pass in that situation. In hindsight, it was the wrong choice, but mostly because he executed it poorly.

Pedri plays exactly like some of his games for Barca this season. Too many stupid touches in dangerous areas resulting in misplaced passes and lost balls. He was terrible in the first half. Yamal also terrible.
