They wouldn't sell anyway. When you sign with Tottenham as a potential big player, you know what you are up for, 5-8 years of your career going down the drain.
None of them counted on playing in the championship though

Now it's a very real possibility

I see we have been linked with Vuskovic. He is their player on loan in bundesliga and a very high potential CB. I don't think he would want to develop in championship so he would be the obvious one to get

Players are tied with contracts. Neither of their valuable players is running out of contract until 2028 at the soonest. Even if some would push for a move they will sell for big money which we don't have.

It's the best league, but football as a whole is in a funk right now (part of why losing love for the game myself, though there's far more factors too). Arsenal will likely win the PL with far fewer points than in the peak of Klopp and Pep going against each other, when Liverpool got like 97 or 98 points and still narrowly lost it.

Now people can spin it either way - the middle of the league is stronger now, was weaker then. However, I personally do not really buy that. There's a lot of average teams in the PL mid-table - they're good by PL current standards, but still just ok teams in the grand scheme.

Flick also makes a good point about the wealth swimming about the PL, but he overlooks (or doesn't get, or is trying to say 'look at the advantages they have over Barca in wealth, aren't I doing an amazing job?') that a lot of that money is totally wasted - look at the money wasted on poor strikers this summer, and poor players in general. The overpaying for transfer fees and wages.

Then there's the fact the game, especially in England, is becoming more agricultural and this ugly reliance on set pieces, physicality, centre-backs as full-backs, and long throws is starting to seep back in. Even Pep has had to adapt, though he clearly doesn't like it.

Overall, it is the best league. But that's more because the others are in even more of a mess, rather than the PL being high quality or anything. City and Liverpool are shadows of what they were even three or four years ago. I believe this Arteta Arsenal team would have got nowhere near the top of the table when Pep and Klopp were going at it in England in the prime City vs Liverpool days. I stand by that.

Been not too bad this season in the domestic leagues, albeit not the stunning heights of last season's PL finish. CL performance has been woeful, though.

For some reason though I always do well in foreign leagues, especially La Liga. I am sure I was even higher than this a month or two ago.

lol thats incredible, do you follow all the top5 leagues ? i mean ligue 1 is pretty boring to follow as you know it will be PSG who wins before the season even started

Thanks. I have done better in previous seasons tbh. I will upload some screenshots of my entire career soon.

It's part skill, part luck. As I have said, some guy can hit the post in the last minute at 1-1, and if you have 1-1 and not 2-1, you get an exact when it could easily have been a wrong a yard the other side of the frame of the goal.

I don't follow all the leagues (as I said I am pretty out of touch with football), but a combination of football knowledge and experience, betting odds, and just generally knowing which teams are better, helps. I don't normally look into stats or form guides (though they give the outcomes of the last 8 games or so underneath the teams) or how teams fare head to head, and use more instinct.

I am thinking about dropping some of the leagues next season, as it gets a bit tiring having 50 odd games to do at the weekend. It takes less than 20 mins to do them though - less of a time investment than fantasy football (which I got bored of and no longer play)

@draconifire was playing in a league with me recently, but he got bored of it I think.
