Sometimes I wish Barca wasn't fan owned. Just to see the look on the face of some idiotic EPL pundits when we arrive on the market with 300m to spend in a summer, and likes of Yamal as youth product, and all the glory playing for Barcelona offers, offered all in one big package when signing players.
Well, we've had our summers like that. Many summers when we've spent like oil clubs. Now people like to play the victim, like we're Valencia or something.

Tottenham, Chelsea and partly City were sabotaged by their GKs. Probably would have lost either way but at least it would have kept the ties alive.

Sure.

Spurs are in the relegation zone.
Newcastle got a great result against Barca.
Liverpool have the Slot tax unfortunately.
Arsenal should win easily.
Chelsea doing what's expected against PSG.

City is the only surprise really.
Don't agree.

We all take barca for granted as a big team, but we actually have no budget, no transfers, no bench, play with kids and are coming from 2 really exhausting games. That was not a good result, for their best performance in the season for Newcastle.

Also, Leverkusen is 6th in Bundesliga, to apply the same argument as you, playing against thr Best Arsenal since many many years 1st in PL.

City demolished by Real Madrid who missed some of its best players and is in dire form.

Chelsea demolished by PSG who struggle all season.

Liverpool.. oh well, agree

How is that relevant when playing Newcastle? And we still have the more expensive first 11 and squad + we are paying bigger salaries.

we have a higher rated squad due to La Massia being good and players being too young, so market value is high.
we are a higher paying club due to some highly paid individuals which they don't have. we are about 2x their salaries.
also our spending in the last 6 seasons is about 1/3 of theirs.
this was an away ko leg, with 3 starters missing. And Newcastle arguably played on of their best games of the season and still only got a draw, by Barca which gave 120% against Atlético and Athletic.

Think Chelsea could have knocked PSG out had they kept Maresca. Even without him they gave PSG a tough game without the goalkeeper flaps.

But 3 goals without conceeding will probably be too much now.

PSG are far from where they were last season. Leaky defence, no clutch goalkeeper and the frontline in the process of finding their form. Look like they will be vulnerable whole tourney unless they suddenly kick into gear. But those game cancellations will help them, though it may cost em Ligue1 if Lens can keep up the pressure and PSG needing to win all their backlog of games.

Best league EPL, 6 matches: 4 losses and 2 draws

Only Pool and Arsenal could advance to next round.

As opposed to what other league?

EPL is clearly the strongest league across whole part of it and fact 6 team make it through to KO stage points to that.

From there it is who meet and Atletico are better than Spurs, PSG are holders and should be beating Chelsea, Barca are Spanish Champions and top Newcastle while Newcastle are mid table.

La Liga has not had a single team outwith Real Madrid past the CL QF in a decade.

Hasnt been higher on UEFA coefficient in years or even close.

Agree re psg something is off with literally all areas of the team, every player and area is under performing.

But their attack does seem to all be getting fit at the right time, if they get past Chelsea they can go on to win it, because they seem to slowly be clicking, especially in attack, defense still looks iffy, midfield has not played much together this season relatively speaking

Reijnders been a huge let down for City also.

More smiles than quality moments.

Bizarrely looks like City didnt understand the player they were signing.

Ropey defensively and struggles deeper to build play.

Always been an 8 from left that needs freedom to move in final third.

They need to rethink a role for him if want to get more.

Why are people not talking about Bodo? What a fantastic run they are having. They are playing fast, skillfull stuff too. Those Scandinavian genes are doing this team a favour. Most of them are physical specimens with good technique. While money is a huge factor in modern football, occasionally a team like this comes along and turns the football World around.
