Did he even make an appearance in CL knockouts before signing for Liverpool? Come on... promising players, yes, bets. Like Isak.
Most really big stars EPL had were formed inside the league in time. Not signed when they were heavy names. Almost all. When they became heavy hitters they moved to dream clubs like Barca, Madrid especially.
When we lost Neymar we didn't lose him to United or Liverpool lol.

Suarez for example. Cristiano Ronaldo. Henry. Kane.
Not many sure, but not many stars in EPL anyway. Usually other teams outside England had better players.

Players normally go to England for the money/wages and financial security. Some of the players being mentioned will earn more in England than in Germany or Spain.
It's sometimes little to do with actually wanting to play in the PL. They're mercenaries who will go where the money is.
Some true top players, who are good enough to play for the biggest clubs - Ronaldo, Suarez, Bale, Kane and so on - will move to the elite European clubs.

Hell, Inter signed Ronaldo from Barcelona. Not any EPL team. Madrid signed Zidane from Serie A. Barcelona signed Ronaldinho from Ligue 1.
