6 - Gavi

Why? Seems like a great deal. Verratti for a couple of seasons would help a lot and Ruiz would be great in Flick's double pivot.
Verratti was finished by then and while Ruiz would be good for some time, it is not worth trading one of our best midfield prospects in years who is very passionate about the club and has good workrate on the pitch

Not to speak that at the time Gavi yet didn't have any ACL injuries. So selling him would be downright scandalous decision, no matter what we get in exchange. But even with ACL injuries this deal makes no sense, Gavi is still very young

He's been unjured 2/3 of the time here and underwhelming 1/2 of the time played. He's really big leap was first season under Koeaman, when he surprised.
It will be miracle, if he really becomes even LL mid tier player from now. He has a heart, but he's low IQ player fucked up by injuries. Some thing Barca has in spades.
Flicks system needs incredibly smart and farseeing players. Gavi will never be that.

He's not a low iq player at all. It's ridiculous how people think every player who's passionate must be low iq

Still better than Gavi, he would give us much more than Gavi did, he's only 33 btw. In hindsight we now know even Gavi is probably finished. He was always overrated anyway, no chance he was ever worth more than Verratti and Ruiz combined.

We wouldn't, we would only sell Gavi and get 2 better players for him.

It's too late now but it just shows Alemany is/was on another level than the amateur Deco that we have now.

1) He is not. Time will prove

2) Even if he is, there is no chance anybody could have known back then he would suffer all those long injuries in such a short time.

The Gavi reaction from cules will be the same as with Fati. The fans who like them will say that they are much worse only because of injuries but in reality they were both extremly overrated from the start because we needed some hope in those dark times and some claimed that they are saviors of the club.

They would maybe become good players for rotation without injuries but never world class.

Even without his injuries that would be a great deal. With knowing about his injuries it's a no brainer.

Agree to disagree, time will tell as you say.
