That doesn’t make sense when the team is doing great while he’s the president. With how you talk about him, one would think we’re in the bartomeu era. Just seems like a lot of yelling at the cloud

Team is doing great because of Flick. End of story. Yes, Laporta picked him on a good hunch and I gave him credit.
Entirely different than claiming this success is because the fat lying bastard is "working hard" as he praised himself.

Don Juan Laporta Estruch

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
People talk about a good hunch to downplay Laporta's great decisions but it infact does the opposite. The good ' hunch ' or instinct is infact the biggest positive attribute a human being can have.

Because a human beings INSTINCT is infact never wrong. It is a super computer, that elevates us from using 2 percent of our brain to using 50 percent of it. The difficult part is knowing how to get in touch with your instinct and differentiating it from your ego derived thoughts.

People will laugh but this is all absolutely true. Meditate. Stop your thoughts. Listen to your intuition. See how you become super human.

Now of course I'm not suggesting Laporta is a huge meditator ! But he has an inherent gift of knowing the right people to hire in the football business. And that is infact his biggest strength and not something to be downplayed to mere luck.

Only he doesn't hire the best people to run Barca organization plus he lies on the every corner.
Having hunch is great if you're only picking berries in the woods or filling the betting ticket. This is supposed to be the biggest club in the world and it's ran by a cheating glutton who treats the club as milking cow and for his promotion.

Absolutely nothing has changed in the way he "works hard" since Xavi's last days then entire stadium was chanting for him to go. He merely picked Flick and hit a jackpot which enabled him to continue in his deceiving and nepotistic way of running the club.

Any lucky schmick can hit the jackpot once, but only someone who has agenda would continue claiming luck when he hits the jackpot again and again and again.

Firing club legend Xavi for Flick. Sticking with novice Rijkaard despite a woeful start. Hiring Pep and sticking with him despite another bad start. That's a hell of a whole load of ' luck ' don't you think ?

And no having a hunch is not great only for picking berries. If you asked me to pick someone who has a great instinct for something or someone that has great academic credentials for the same thing, I am picking the one with the instinct every time.

I bet on football matches a lot. In play I will look at numberous stats and my ego driven mind will come up with a conclusion ( Team B has to win ). However, my instinct will give me a feeling. Not only a positive feeling towards one team but a positive or negative feeling towards what my ego driven academic based mind has decided.

I don't really need to tell you who ends up correct between my supernatural, spiritual instinct and my worldly intellect driven mind, do I ???

As someone not as emotionally attached, the ongoing transition from the Messi's rein onto the current era has been optimal.
Objectively, now you can only yearn for Messi, Suarez, Naymar, Iniesta, Xavi....and whoever else was there...stellar configuration - something like that is only possible once a lifetime. Objectively, speaking this Flick's philosophy is excellent. ..c'mon!

Issue is people conflating assessment of Laporta's administrative job with Flick's coaching.

It's the latter that people focus on and make according assumptions about the former.

Bet everyone would suddenly remember all the lies, failed promises, amateurish management, nepotism had results on the field been missing.

I refuse to accept all the moronic statements by the fat man that insult my intelligence.

Barca deserve better than Laporta. Or Font for that matter.

An interesting detail, looking at today's photos of Laporta meeting the team in the match preparation room, to announce his resignation for the election. I haven't noticed before, but on the entire wall are huge photos of Barca lifting CL trophies.
I don't know if they were always there, but Flick is known for his motivational tricks, so I wouldn't be surprised, if it's a direct order from him to put them on the wall, so the players can get a feeling of pride during the last talk and preparation before a game.

I reckon he wasn't too popular after getting canned from the NT after so little time. Way harsher than getting canned from just one club, for he gets the wrath of fans of an entire nation against him. 😅

Has his reputation improved in Germany again after the fantastic job he's doing here at Barca? Surely this cannot be going unnoticed? Or are Germany fans holding a grudge?

It’s been a very great practice by Flick, if you haven’t noticed, last year he had all 3 trophies on the wall with the year 2025 on them, he clearly wanted the players to feel motivated to win those trophies and that’s why in my opinion, we won 3/4 trophies last year and were minutes away from the UCL final.

He ain't discussed much in Germany, as Spanish football in general doesn't generate much interest here and Barca is mostly known for scandals in the media, so people don't like to talk well of Barca. His supporters now say: "I told you so", his critics continue to say he's an one trick pony. So more or less it stayed the same I'd say. Only a CL win would change it in my opinion, as it would draw enough attention.

edit: That sounded like he has a general bad rep here because of the NT, that's not the case. Most of the fans respect his achievements. It's just not enough to change his critics opinion for said reasons.

You must be one of the people that thought the same about Bartomeu in 2015 when the team was also doing great.
If you were a soci back then, you would have voted for him, based on the 2015 treble and Lucho's team.

While in reality that moron was slowly destroying the club

Such short-sightedness, lack of nuance, and inability to critically assess, is like a plague in the fanbase
