24 - Eric García

He’s reliable until he has his usual brain lag and makes a dumb mistake, like the handball that led to the penalty. He’s still very valuable and versatile, but not as a CB against Real Madrid.

That was nothing he could do about that hand ball yesterday.

Just unlucky.

The issue is none of them are reliable this season... last game Araujo started he was off at HT against Sevilla as was terrible also.

Araujo at RCB with Kounde RB is about as bad as it gets on the ball and that matters as seen a number of times this season also.

He's a valuable player to have thanks to his polyvalency to be able to play as CB, RB and DM. Just shouldn't have a starting spot in the big games, but a good squad depth player.

Fair play to him.

Was very good last season and been Barcas best CB this season so far.

Performance v PSG was the best any CB has looked by far at this point for example.

If get that LCB with more physicality then Cubarsi and Garcia are very good options for the ball playing RCB.

Have the feeling he would suddenly turn back to shit when Flick will leave, just like Ferran and others and thus should he be offered only 1 year extension.

Got a feeling Eric-Araujo might end our best CB partnership this season.

For better or worst. Sometimes in the central defence you find a partnership that works better than others and you just got to role with it until it doesn't

Cant see it and tonight did nothing for that argument.

Elche targetted Araujo on ball all game and forced him into hoofs up the park while defensively he had another big error.

All the reasons why Fkick hasnt trusted him more were on show.

Play Araujo into form (feels like we have been saying that for 24 months already) or Cubarsi into form are the only two options we have.

Cubarsi seems absolutely shot physically right now though. I don't know how long it will take to salvage that.

Christensen being fit would sort alot of issues. I can see him allowing Eric into the pivot as you say, or even pivoting himself.
