Still like his potential a lot but injury really came at the worst possible time (not that is ever a good time to get injured) as several players have probably overcame him in the pecking order both for the BA and potentially first team. But if he'll stay fit I believe he'll show his talent this season.

That's true but I think bigger downfall for him will be we had to wait until he turned 18 to sign him. I don't know how he developed back home in Mali but I think he would be a more developed player today if we could have get him into La Masia a year earlier. Doesn't mean he still can't make it as long as stays healthy and keeps working hard though.

True, the rule about not being able to sign players under 18 outside of Spain/EU definitely impacted his development

It was a black hole for him, those years in mali

Beletti knows him and has helped him a lot easing him in Juvenil A gradually. Moving from being a rotation player into being UYCL finals MVP with couple of months or so.

That is with him moving to another continent and getting injured at the age of 18.

I think Beletti will use him and as the season goes he will be one of the top performers under Beletti.

I like him more than his current competition, for me he is bigger talent than Dro and Fernandez cousins despite being a bit older (although, not big age gap).

He has no major weaknesses that gives red flag. He isn't a midget or slow, he is smart who understands the game and seems disciplined within his role. He is a great playmaker and has an eye for goals, while also being versatile.

Other than injuries, his main weakness is lack of an outstanding skill, which could limit his upside, but if he stays healthy I think he can be at least a rotation player at least.

He's about to be 19 in December, considered we signed him when he was 16-17, it's basically been 3 years of little to no development for him.

If he can over come that to make it here or anywhere else at close to the top top level, it will be a massive credit to him.

Apparently he should be join the group in the next 2-3 weeks

We signed him less than a year ago, and the reported deal was in 2023, 2 years ago.

And he developed well in only half a season here. From a bench guy to UYCL final MVP.

This doesn't make any sense.

PS: any player coming from a country like Mali who succeeds in top level, should get a ton of credit, regardless of the situation.

He was 16 at the U17 WC born 12/12/2006 last game of the WC he played was 12/1/23 and is about to be 19 in a few months.

For a guy that has been shown to be very specific with age you'll understand this lol.

so what was this clarification even for? Seriously

I don't even know what you're trying to counter here, kid has not played much football in the years since the U17 WC, if he makes it to the top top level aka elite (key words in my post) its a massive credit to him.

I don't know why you're talking about players from mali, playing anywhere in a top division, not what I was getting it obviously.

This post didn't need a reply tbh

So he hasn't played much football in 3 years like I said, so what was this clarification even for? Seriously

Are you drunk? The tournament was literally played less than 2 years ago. It was in November to December 2023. How is it 3 years from December 2023 to October 2025?!!

He was almost 17 back then, just like he is almost 19 now. You rounded his age now, but not back then, and then says you are correct?!!

It was 2 years, one he was playing in 2nd division in Mali and clearly developed physically in comparison to where he was in the U17, the next one he has injury problem but showed massive progression in the months he played.

Nah I'm not drunk, it was just a unnecessarily clarification by you.

I knew he was 16 and the U17 world cup he's about to be 19 now, I wasn't googling when exactly what the U17 WC beford my post.

What he was doing in mali is irrelevant has many here have said, he has not been developing at the required level and once he moved here he's picked up an injury is the obvious point.

If he makes it to the elite level it's a credit to him, who cares about a player from mali playing in France or whatever enough of them have done that, is the point.

Quick to clarify that, but not to clarify why flick concedes 39 goals per season even with a defense tailor made for his football & one of the best keepers of all time, but CBs are the reason why he's failing at Barca, you duck that with the quickness, but trying to make a point on the fine details of diarra?.

Amongst other things.

I clarified all of that, but at certain point you stop arguing with someone who religiously believe in something. It isn't worth the time.

Nah you didn't, you had no come back & walked away

Flick needs better defenders, when I confronted you with his Bayern defense & their record, complete silence, because the facts don't back your argument.

But here you are trying to land a point on exactly how long, diarra was signed lol

I doubt he was doing anything differently in the time he agreed to Barca move to arriving so no sure how that is wasted time.

In that time he played for Mali and would assume youth football while flying across to train with Barca.

It is being over egged to make out missed three years. Nothing close.

This is your typical tactic of taking things into personal discussion and brings history of posts (half of the time not even correctly) that is irrelevant.

You messed up, get corrected, move on.

I addressed the Flick question in his thread anyway. It isn't like you actually made a point that couldn't be addressed
