I have never for the life of me managed to figure out how a human being can watch football and think Ronaldo > Messi.

Even in goals Messi has a better ratio. It's not like it's even close.

Then you go to awards and see the same myriad of evidence. 8-5 in main award, Golden Ball, 6-4 in top scorer award etc.

As someone who has followed both their careers and talks about them all the time, I just dont see it.

I am finished posting on here, but just wanted to say a couple of things about Messi re Ronaldo.

Messi is actually much more confident, grounded (in football terms) than Ronaldo. Messi never goes on about how good he is like Ronaldo does, even though he has far more reason to talk up his own abilities than Ronaldo does his. Messi could come out tomorrow and say he’s miles better than Ronaldo and it’s a joke anyone compares Ronaldo to him, and many people would support him, because he’s 100 percent right. People wouldn’t be disgusted by Messi proclaiming himself the greatest of all time because it’s very reasonable, whereas they are when Ronaldo does it because they know he’s not a contender at all, realistically.

So, if anything, Ronaldo inflates his own level 9anyone who has to say they’re a king is no king) and Messi underplays his by never talking about how good he is. So, really, who’s the real confident alpha male here? Who's the guy who doesn't need constant validation and reinfoorcement, even though he could easily get it? Clearly Messi.
