We did spend 27m this summer. 60m last summer. 33m the year before.

The fact that we're even this strong and won all we did last season is a miracle. Even if we have a somewhat disappointing season this year compared to last then I don't know if I can blame anything else than the club's financial situation that have 13-14 players of our squad have to play nearly every game because the other guys are a big drop in quality or always injured anyway.

Atletico Madrid this summer and last summer alone have spent as much as we've spent since Laporta became President, and that's after we had to sell a part of our soul just to not go bankrupt after what Bartomeu had done with this club.

And that's Atletico. Now imagine Real Madrid, PSG, Man City, Chelsea, etc.

People really want to compare us to that? Just enjoy the ride and hope/pray we get out of this ruin so we're able to have a summer where we can spend 80-100m every second year or so without problems.

There's only so much you can improve from academy products and a couple of free transfers. At some point every club need to spend big to keep up with the rest and get the type of quality needed that you're not producing yourself.

No doubt. No matter how you go around it you always arrive to this.

Yeah, we don't need to be spending 800m to build an elite side like those sheik or other billionaire owned teams. Give me half that in 3 seasons. And then we can take on everybody.

Raphinha has had an MRI today to check the status of his injury and if he continues on a good path he could be included in the Barça squad and play against Real Madrid. @ffpolo

Impressive job by Flick, no doubt. But LL is a two horse league race. We wouldn't have won shit most probably if we would have played in the EPL over the same period.

He also had some players signed by Barto + Yamal and other La Masia kids that had a big influence. So he didn't need to sign some players that proved to be decisive for our fortunes in the league.

Also, Barca is not Stoke, or Man Utd or Chelsea. We simply have a bigger pull, because of the club and location. And we haven't shied away from paying salaries at market value or above. If you're Lewandowski would you rather go on a free at Barca or in England? We know what decision he took.

So this romantic story that we are broke and we beat all odds doesn't have much weight when you have CL football guaranteed every season and your name is FC Barcelona. Players didn't come here because of Koeman, Xavi or Flick.
