Don't like Araujo but IMO he should of started Eric is a mistake he is to slow and Kounde was trying to cover him at times
We need a fast winger
And Mendes should have been sent from the start he almost broke Pedris foot and after his foul on Yamal the ref didn't send him
Our team mentality became low
We had 2 players sent of when we faced them before
Something has to be done or the refs in CL
It's unfair how our games are conducted by them the small details make the difference

Yeah Eric and Ferran the only two that come out with any credit in this game.

This game revealed some GLARING HOLES in our starting XI even when everyone is fit:
1) Fullbacks: Kounde can't start at RB for Barca.
Martin can't even fill in at LB for Barca
2) CF: Ferran can't start for Barca, neither can the granny tractor.
3) CAM: Olmo is several tiers below what is required. This position is a RED FLAG by now
4) CBs: Cubarsi has been abysmal this seaosn. ARaujo can't yet understand keeping the line. Eric is good on the ball, but soft in defending. The only decent one (Christensen) is 4th choice for some reason I can't comprehend

He knows how to combine in attack and was never given opportunity except microwave minutes or without starters around him. Masia players like him and Fati need Barcaball to succeed as well.

Considering that we had martin, garcia, cubarsi in the backline this was actually flattering result. Add to that rashford and lamine with zero pressing and defensive responsability, out of form olmo who was weak as fuck. Pedri and de jong were targeted heavily. Ferran gave his all, kudos to him.
Hakimi and mendes neutralised rashford and lamine impact on the wings, and with olmo in this kind of form we were outnumbered in mf. Its better to experience this defeat now, and that players experienced what it feels like being outplayed by intensity and pressing.

Yeah, big picture, whether we drew or lost, I think it's clear to us that we aren't on the same level.
Silver lining is - the team can probably take this as an introspection moment and hopefully Flick can learn some things.
I agree about the full backs - it baffles me that we haven't had a really top top fullback since alves and alba (early years). That's just...wild to me how we can go so many years and keep playing with mediocre to absolute trash fullbacks.

Decent finish and worked hard which was about enough to be better than anyone bar Eric.
