Florian Wirtz

This guy will eventually come good - it's inevitable.

But for €125m pounds for a midfielder he would need to become Xavi, Iniesta, Modric, KDB level good and there is very little chance he gets there.
To get there he needs to play in elite team. With szboslai, gravenberch, and those in attack its hard to achieve. VVD and Salah exception

He will get better but Leverkusen pulled Liverpool's pants down. They could have signed both Wharton AND Eze from Palace for the same money. Both proven PL players.

Wirtz needs time on the ball he's never going to get in England. He needs to adapt and quick.

Worst case scenario is he doesnt live up to it and they still get a huge fee and barely make a loss on books if sell him.

Plenty time yet not to be the case though.

Liverpool should be worried. As I said in the CL topic, even if midfielders are integrating, you can see moments of sparks from them. Wirtz has offered nothing apart from ball hogging until today. Basically the whole league winning midfield was reorganized because of his arrival and he is making it even worse by being selfish. Things can change, but it isn't looking good.

Jammy making a good point that if Liverpool want a quicker thinking AMC like Dani Olmo for 100m, that Bayern would probably snap Liverpools arm off to get Wirtz back to Getmany- and a decently sized fee too.

We can swap Olmo for one of their strikers. Give us Ekitike or Isak plus 20 million and Olmo is all yours.

Wirtz is not the only difference.

They also lost TAA for near enough free and one of their forwards died.

They signed a different profile of strikers x2.

They are attempting to change the role of Salah as he gets older also and be less dependent on him.

Will it work?

Time will tell.

He's been poor but Frimpong and Kerkez have been worse.

Liverpool miss Trent's creativity more than any Liverpool fan will ever dare to admit. Salah is half the player without him.
