Watching Sevilla-Getafe and commentator mentioned this happened 18 years ago. 
On 25 August 2007, Puerta collapsed and lost consciousness in the penalty area due to a cardiac arrest during Sevilla's first La Liga fixture of the 2007–08 campaign at homeground Sánchez Pizjuán against Getafe CF.
He died three days later.

They should reduce it to ten and punt off half the league.
TV money is more or less there for 2 teams and to some extent Atletico. The tv contract would barely even go down and if anything up as more marketable games each weekend.
Allow investors in if can provide funds up front and relax rules for them if they do.
Get rid of clauses if any way legally possible to do so.
The quality of La Liga teams from middle to bottom is horrendous. Folk can hold on to this idea that it is some top league technically. it really isnt.

The league can't even retain the best striker in fuckin LaLiga2. The mid-upper level should be snapping him up all day long.
Even a decade or two back the Mallorcas were buying exotic names like Arango and Pezzolano which people would tune in to see.
Now there's nothing. It's not even about Prem swooping up all the talents as even Germany and France get new names in each season.
Outside of that LaLiga rewards stalling and simulation.
