17 - Marc Casadó

I love how so many people here are discarding Casado after a great half season and claiming Bernal will replace him easily.

Where are yall getting your information? From the 3 games and bit of preseason Bernal had? 🤣

The kid played well and is only 17 but the sample size was so small, my God. I rather keep them all and figure out who to keep by the end of the season, than sell Casado for peanuts and take the chance of either Frenkie leaving on a free, Bernal not living up to expectations (on top of coming back from a bad knee injury) or both.

If he wants to leave, let him go...but I don't think we should be cashing in for a measly 25mil or so when he's a great squad player.

He didnt have a great half a season though.

Had a good month or month and a half in and around October.

In August/Sept he played 4 of the 8 La Liga games and not v the better teams Barca faced then and was decent/good and played 1 CL game away to Monaco that Barca lost. Did his job well enough but nothing great.

Had a strong October then for most part he and team declined in November and December and was poor in January also.

Overall he was decent but this idea he had a great 6 months or half a season is not true. He and Pedri did not play all that well as a pair for majority of time they played together.

From coming from B team he did well and helped team but how well he did is being over played and team were faltering with midfield being part of that.

I'm the last person to blindly prefer a player just because he's from La Masia, but in this case it's clear to me that the best thing would be to extend De Jong on a semi-long deal, then sell him for big money (>70M) next summer, and keep all of Bernal, Casado and Gavi. No brainer really. Not only would De Jong fetch us much more money, but he's also the most expendable at the same time. This is why I'm also hoping De Jong doesn't get the captaincy, cause that would cement him here for another 3-5 years.

Especially if Bernal does make it back and returns as successfully as Gavi did after that ACL, and if both him and Casado have a good season (but it's gonna be tough, since De Jong will be ahead of both sadly). Would love to see that Gavi-Pedri connection taking shape and starting to thrive in the middle of the park, with Casado and Bernal as more than worthy backups or sometimes even starters...honestly whichever combination among the 4 would work really, cause they're all so good.

Frenkie is easily better than Gavi, Bernal and Casado currently.

If that changes then sell him but for now all you are doing is weakening the team and significantly.

Folk love the idea of Gavi and Pedri but to date it has never really worked as a pair and both have strongest role in same position with Pedri being clearly the better player.

Frenkie was a big reason for why Barca won league and turned it around and he helped also get best from Pedri who got better with him.

He was the best midfielder by far in the Inter tie.. the likes of Barella looked terrible in comparison and was world class in the Real game that won the league. Helping Barca keep calm and play their own game from 2-0 down to win it.

Frenkie has already proven to never leave even if we want to sell him.

Gavi is going to be the starting 10 before long. Mark it down. He will surpass Fermin and eventually Olmo who will be getting hurt.

Gavi isn't a 10, but if that's the position he has to play to be a starter, I wouldn't be surprised, he gives us something there olmo and fermin doesn't.

But I still think olmo will be the starter when fit.

Gavi is competing with Pedri for the starting spot and that's a competition he will never win, even though I'm a gavi fan.

If he was a DM/10 he would walk back in the team once fully fit, but the one player that clears him, takes up his position.
