Ter Stegen being vulnerable due to barca poor defending over years is the biggest cope. And @JamDav1982 is/was part of the conspiracy. I am pretty sure he himself is happy Joan Garcia arrived to phase him out.
Yes, it’s true to an extent cause opponent will more likely score if defense is poor. But guy has defeatist attiude. Ready to let in every shot and give the CB’s a glare.
I have also seen plenty of keepers step up where defense falters.
But that’s just one issue. There are like 3-4 more.
-Poor management during set pieces
-overthinks and brain farts under pressure
-lacks a bit of height and reach.
-doesn’t instil trust in teammates(a bit of speculation there but plenty of things hinting at it imo)
-Injury history
I won’t mention his salary. It’s only normal for having played 10 years here. But a plus if he leaves.

I suspect his contract is somehow connected to ter Stegen's.
Neuer's GK coach Tapalovic is an assistant at Barca. I'm sure he'd be the first to notice the lack of proper GK training.
