Nico would probably get same wages and on top of that 10m amortisation costs we don't have now.
And Diaz amortisation cost would be even higher due to higher fee and shorter contract (assuming salary would be somewhere similar).
All the talk about bad scouting and maybe that's true or maybe not, but guys.......we were never signing a young player who is an unknown when we need proven quality to provide depth and minutes so we don't run Raphinha and Lamine Yamal into the ground.
While I like guys like Nusa and Fofana looks interesting the former will cost at least 40-50m minimum whilst the latter is in the same price range and even less proven and nowhere near the talent Barcola and Doue were.
Doesn’t matter what I would have done as it’s not my job. It’s theirs. A job that they receive millions of euros to do, and they do it terribly. They’re giving some scrub who is literally denied access to United’s facilities and has no cards on his hands, one of the highest salaries in our team. On top of lying and breaking promises almost every day. So, fuck off with that tone. Fans have every right to be furious.Lol. Oh okay. What would you have done if you were in charge?
Also cost. Young players who are highly rated DO NOT come cheap. Liverpool looking at Ekitike for 80-90m.
They have cards. And they obviously have money unlike us when we had Coutinho and were desperate. They are spending 200m again this sunmer.
It's not on Deco. It's a good deal for everybody, especially us who upgraded Fati with a better player in every way with not a lot extra.
They are also desperate. See inteviews by Ratcliff the last year or so, where he warns UTD are in danger of bankruptcy.
Certain high-earners like RAshford, Sancho, etc. they put on sale primarily, if not solely, because of their wages
It's not Deco that he didn't force UTD to pay at least 5m gross of his wages, which he could easily had
PS: Wages are what makes a club bankrupt, not transfer fees.
If FFP is as it should be, then covering Rashford wage of 14m gross for one year is fine.
Nico would probably get same wages and on top of that 10m amortisation costs we don't have now.
And Diaz amortisation cost would be even higher due to higher fee and shorter contract (assuming salary would be somewhere similar).
It's good tactic what you say if our squad would be in better shape, but we equally need this move. And United know it. We can not afford to go into the season with no good back-up wide. And to lose this deal over 4m is stupid.
No,
AGAIN:
UTD have 0 cards in this case
- Player up for sale, out of the plans ->depreciates his market value highly
- Player on huge and 'out of the market' wages ->minimizes, if not eradicates, possible buyers
- Player himself wanting to go
- Player himself wanting to go ONLY to a specific team
In such cases, UTD can't do anything, but accept the move to that team on ANY CONDITIONS, as long as they cover some part of his huge wages.
We had all LEVERAGE in the world. We could force UTD to pay up a good part, and even accept LOWER fee for the option to buy.
It's exactly the same situation we found ourselves with all garbage we wanted out the last 6 years or so
