And this is EXACTLY why we shouldn't sign him.

If we keep going down the ' But Hansi will make him great ' route, we will end up signing a plethora of mediocrity.

I want to sign players who are great BEFORE Hansi gets a hold of them.

Then you aren't going to sign anyone and will settle for our current forward line with crap like Pau Victor and Ansu as backups.

Who are the great strikers that Barca can feasibly sign? Please do name them.

I've already pinned my colours to the mast in what I want from the transfer window. 2 things. One is Joan Garcia . There other is Vik Gyok.

They'd cost about 100m in total and that is not too much to ask considering the amount of prize money a treble winning side makes, as well as all the other huge commercial revenues like gate receipts on Sunday or long UCL campaign.

Those 2 players would make such a huge improvement on the first Xi , that you suddenly close the gap between achieving the holy grail of winning the Champions League and being semi final losers. Full back depth ain't going to do that, neither is a Utd flop.

All the other positions people are worried about can be easily covered by what is already there ( Garcia at RB, Torrents/Martin ( who is nowhere near as bad as people make out, at LB ).

If there was a LW worth buying I'd be all for it, but there isn't.

Hard disagree.
As much as I want Gyokeres and Garcia. A backup of LW, LB is a necessity.

Either of Yamal or Raph being sidelined signals doom for our LW. We have no credible player to play there.
Martin is shit. Even though he did redeem himself in that second leg, you forgot the 1st leg we drew was mainly because of him and 2 open play goals also was a result of his.

Backup LB and LW is an absolute must. Now if we are able to boot Terrorist, which is a must to, we get Garcia.
Same for our striker, if Ferran gets an offer and is willing to leave, we have the space to get Gyokeres.

As much as I would want to just buy Gyokeres and later see who wants to stay and who wants to leave. Or keep all three in the team, this is not feasible. We are not Vardrid.

He can play across the front line. But apart from his pace and long-range shooting, I see no other upside to his game. With him, Barca will continue to be reliant on Yamal to unlock low block defences, because our LWs are only adept at vertical play.

Flick doesn't have much of a choice

He needs to reinforce many positions. If you can get a player like Rashford (a little washed but there's a chance he can repair him) on loan and save the funds for other positions (GK, CB, fullbacks? Whatever)he has to go for it

I have been waiting for this transfer since January.
We need a backup, not a starter. Rashford will be on Loan, so we are saving money.
Gives us muscle, height, and pace up top, with Lewa being old, Rashford will be the one providing that.
If he is eager to come, it means he wants this to work. He won't slack off.
And if he does, he could be shipped back to ManU in January.

What worries me most is his lack of workrate in a flick team, which cannot afford any passengers especially when the ball gets turned over. And his finishing/production has been poor the last couple of seasons and does not make up for it.

Yes, man utd is a turd these days but still a lot questions around whether he still has the desire to play. I could see him starting well then fading as season progresses and the adrenalin wears off.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I actually think Rashford would be a great option.
He can play in all front three positions, yet wouldn’t necessarily expect to start every game, which is exactly what we need.
He’ll be eager to prove himself, won’t break the bank and we dodge the Luis Díaz bullet.
